It's not a writers opinion, though. It's Microsoft's own internal forecasts.
Again. It’s not.

It was testified in court that it was a forecast from the hardware team about what they expected the ratio of xbox business would be going forward.

It was never meant to be a forecast of gamepass growth.

Yall said last year those were the best games xbox had to offer, now they are no big deal 💀
Not sure what you mean by yall. I haven't played any of those games. What is the current impact of those games right now though? They came and they went for the most part. If they want to monetize sold through titles on other platforms it's whatever.

In the video game world the typical consumer has almost no self-discipline. Most if they actually want a title they aren't going to wait to see if it hits another platform. Those that do weren't really willing to buy the original platform anyway. The lack of discipline is why game sales are front loaded and why everybody knows if they wait a few months they can get a deal and if they wait a year they can get a deal with all the DLC but most don't do that. Them porting older titles isn't a problem.

Now if they're talking day and date multiplatform games that's going to be catastrophic to their Xbox brand and they might as well pack it up but the word isn't anything close to that. If they handle this right it's a way to get people who are unwilling to buy their hardware to sample their games. If their software lineup improves it could help them sell to some of those people.

Again. It does. It's a forecast for expected GP growth. Your spin is just something you're clinging to for the sake of your sanity. :yeshrug:

Sony stans “Sony porting old games to PC is just a way to make more money on the games and gain fans for their sequels”

Also Sony stans: “Xbox porting old games to other platforms means they are throwing in the towel on hardware”

Crazy how yall spin machine is so inconsistent :wow:

Xbox gamers that swore in the beginning of 2023 that xbox actually had a great year in 2022 with Grounded 1.0, Pentiment, then later Hi Fi Rush being a GOTY contender and Sea of Thieves being the most successful and best game Rare has ever made, even better than their Nintendo games.

I was told non-stop the biggest advantage xbox has over playstation is their AA games filled with tons of variety that playstation just doesn’t have. Now I’m being told those games don’t matter, didn’t have a major impact, and that they could easily be ported elsewhere and not make a spit of difference.

this only works if you assume Sony and Microsoft are in the same place hardware wise.

The point is that Microsofts hardware is failing and Sony’s isn’t. If microsoft do anything else to jeopardize their console sales they might as well just give up because there are very few reasons already to owning an xbox and will be even less so after thursday.

We’ll see how long “console sales don’t matter” when you gotta continue to stan Microsoft as a publisher :yeshrug:

25-30 million sold is already way more than any “failed” hardware.

That narrative is again sony stan nonsense and wishfull thinking.

The numbers drop more and more every generation. Thats not what a business like Microsoft wants.

Their subs and investments are made with the idea that their install base will grow not shrink. The only way to continually grow without selling hardware is to go multiplatform. Microsoft have to put their games on more successful platforms
