So, according to you, they were making more money than ever, biggest console playerbase they have "ever" had

and then decided to port all of their games to a competitor.

Yea, makes sense.

and before "it's business, they're making money", you don't think they'd make more money by getting folks to buy their console?

:what:
That nikka spiraling to the point he about to spin off the earth's axis. Pay him no mind.

Also Phil: port more games!
Nah, this was the plan. Who cares about capturing 100% of the revenue on our own system.

No they wouldn't out the gate, they'd lose money especially at this point. Unless every person that bought a console got gamepass and subbed for X amount of months

I think hardware sales wise they are probably betting on next generation, I expect to see Microsoft take more of a Nintendo approach to consoles and hardware now. However the consoles is the baseline, it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Why would they lose money by selling games on their own platform? According to y’all they have the biggest player base ever.

100% vs 70%. The math ain’t mathing

This has been explained over and over to you goofies but you just wanna play dumb.

Consoles are not profitable sales. Especially at the discounts most of them get sold at.

So getting someone to buy your console and them only playing a few games on said console is not worth the revenue lost by holding the game out from other platforms.

This was even testified to in court by independent researchers. Even holding COD exclusive to xbox would not result in more revenue/profit for xbox in the long run.

The millions of people that will buy SOT for playstation would never have purchased an xbox. The few that might have, probably wouldn’t then switch their game buying habits to mostly xbox.

People are not buying hardware based on exclusive games. People are pretty much locked into their perspective ecosystems and will play what comes to them.

China and Black Myth Wukong says hi.

College Football 25 seems to be moving consoles.

Spider-Man 2 moved consoles.

I can keep going if you want.

and why release 3 new current gen consoles if people are locked into ecosystems. They want folks to upgrade from regular series S to the new 1 Terabyte series S (with no other improvements)? Yea, that's the play to make.
