Microsoft is about to invest 10 billion into OpenAI. Best believe AI and automation about to get plenty of tech jobs out of the paint. Microsoft is getting rid of people because they have the tools that make them redundant.

The fact that people are trying to tie this to gaming acquisitions is funny. They are working on implementing ChatGPT across all of their suite of services. We're approaching the AI revolution in the workspace. A lot of jobs that people are holding now based around communications, even coding/programming etc will be replaced with AI.

This is an indication of that more than anything.
You're not wrong but we're still some years away.

Way to early to trust chatgpt to run important infrastructure for an company like MS.
:what:

Fam...

And every job MS has isn't extremely technical. They have hundreds of thousands of employees. Do you really think they are all necessary? For example, why would a company that is working very closely to OpenAI like MS is continue to pay for copywriters, communications professionals and the like when they can roll up multiple people's roles into 1 person generating the same shyt with a chat bot?

Again this is speculation. Its different for this to do this on a few examples but leaving "important" infrastructure stuff to an app this early in the game im highly doubtful that the layoffs are specifically for that.

No doubt some things will take longer than others, but working in "unison" with robots/tech/ai driven workers is way closer than you think.

Mufukkaz betta wake up.

Oh no doubt im pro trade or learning skills outside of what you do im just saying the layoffs isn't solely on chatgpt vs them doing it to save money. In the next months those roles will be filled via temp workers.

Talk to these nikkaz :wow:

2 of my homeboys working for Amazon got hit today, Software Engineering and Robotics.

It’s going to hit tech first and then spread out to everything else.

Unless some type of regulations are implemented, it’s going to be a nuclear zone outchea.

Microsoft going all in on AI is not speculation tho. I never said anything about infrastructure stuff. I was calling out that there are A LOT of jobs that don't revolve around infrastructure in the technology industry that will/can be impacted by chatGPT TODAY. Outside of Software Engineers and Developers, I'm sure MS employs thousands of people in Change Management, Communications and Marketing. A lot of their work is rooted in text and creative writing. That is what chatGPT does extremely well right now and honestly can completely replace jobs IMO.
