There's no mental gymnastics. Provided two examples with Rare and Bungie where they bought individual studios and no one cared.Its just different levels of success. Thats the only difference. You still doing mental gymnastics to try and say its not the same.
Buying an entire publisher whos studio's games sold more on your competition's platform only for you to remove or stop future games from appearing on them is already an eye raiser (Zenimax). But it was a private publisher so not much you can do. Then turn around and attempt to buy another publisher a couple year's later and think government anti competition boards are going to be cool with that? Getting caught in lies in court as well. And already having a shaky history with anti competitive practices acknowledged by these same government entities?
But that's the same?
