it's a simulator. and that GoT bs is bullshyt too
It's not the same thing. One is charging you to allow your system to basically use it's power.

If you buy a new GPU on your PC it wouldn't be fair to charge you $10 if you want it to work to it's full power. If you don't pay the 10 then you will only get the same performance as you did with your previous GPU. That's what Sony is doing.

Flight Simulator already has the entire planet in game and for free you can download updates so that important places are more detailed like New York City and London etc. and they do have all 44,000 airports in the game already for free some of them fully detailed but it's not logical to expect to have 44,000 airports be identical. So people have gone and did it and charge for it if you want.

So there's nothing to compare, but it's a narrative you Sony stans have created. Why :mindblown:

Finally got a bit of free time so I fired it back up. Still getting used to flying again, when I played FSX I used a flight stick. Way less involved than a whole yoke/throttle/rudder setup. I'm either fighting the prop torque or having an unbalanced plane produces some heavy affects on the flight dynamics. Constantly had to correct the plane trying to bank left. I'll have to fly it again with a balanced plane to see.

That aside, I decided to take off from a small airport near where I went to high school. Saw the opening cinematic and I was like... this all looks just like I remember. Took off and flew over the school and saw the stadium, complete with accurate logos, tennis courts, classrooms, everything
full

I'm going to have to plot a route that takes me past all my childhood places. Hopefully after a couple of hours of flight time I'll be comfortable enough to get back into the CJ4 - or at least into the DA-42 or 62 for a couple of cross state trips. May record parts of them as I go.

So I started off with the stick on rudder pedals and totally agree with how you prefer it. And the struggles you faced while flying, especially if you take off an assist or two.

So when I let my uncle try it and he's a old flight head, why this nikka fly it pretty the entire time and land the muthafukka at the airport with only one bounce on touchdown :ehh:

So I have him my sticks and bought him a series s the next day. He's on that bytch all the time now, even calls me sometimes when I log on on some "you wanna join me" :pachaha:

I got in another flight, felt more comfortable this time. @PS5 the constant left roll was definitely due to imbalance. If anything, this time I had to be mindful of a very sight roll to the right. So if you want more of a challenge, mess with the passenger weights. One big problem I noticed is that trimming on the yoke was too aggressive. One adjustment completely threw the attitude off. If my throttle didn't have a trim wheel then I would have struggled. Trimming for straight and level flight helps immensely when doing turns and not gaining or losing too much altitude. +/- 200FPM trimmed well vs more than +/- 1500 FPM when it's not trimmed.

Flew by my high school again. I run live time and live weather and everything just looked right. Flew over what should have been one of the houses I used to live in, then decided to fly toward KONT just following the roads. For a minute I thought about getting a few pictures but I wouldn't have had anything as cinematic as @DaSk8D00D with the time of day I was at :skip:. I shot an approach with a long ass final so I could get a decent glide slope. I don't know why, but I didn't see PAPI or VASI lights so I had to wing it. Came in off center and angled to the right. Approach speed was decent but at a couple points I was too low and had to throttle up all the way to correct. I flared too early and too aggressively, which is normal for me, but landed ok.

I need to do some taxi practice and get in a better habit of monitoring my instruments - mainly airspeed and heading. I also need to come up with a solution to my sliding rudder pedals, probably get one of those office mats and Velcro.

 Here's a real, real rough video. I thought the video editor that comes with Windows was gonna be more robust but :manny:. Ya'll can watch me fukk up the takeoff because I tried to set the takeoff trim while in motion, then struggle to turn on auto pilot only to realize the Master Avionics switch didn't turn on when I flipped the switch on my yoke. It was a 25 minute flight but it wasn't anything exciting.

Closer to the golden hour with these ones. Diamond DA-42. I thought it was more advanced that it was until I got in, however there's 2 versions. Maybe tomorrow I'll try the other version and try to find the differences. I think it may be a glass cockpit because the thumbnail was missing the compass on top of the glare shield. Took off from Ontario and landed in Palomar since San Diego was further than I felt like flying.

@Lord Beasley something I learned about in more detail since our last Convo on airports.

Every month about, this game comes out with a free world map update. Each time they ficus on a different part of the planet and the update improves visuals in those places including airports. So they give you 44000, detail as much as possible, then they continue to update so eventually the entire planet will be updated accordingly. Right now FedEx field still has the Redskins logo :blessed:

It's addictive and I'm restricting myself from loading it up until after this job interview tomorrow :francis:. I need to get my comfort level back up so I can get back in more powerful aircraft and get some shots from higher up.
