Dude be making these question threads like he ain’t obviously tryna throw Chris Paul Lob-City passes to the Sony base on here :russ:.

Question really can’t be answered til we see confirmed pricing and specs for everything. I’ll be getting an XSX and a digital PS5 myself regardless though:ehh:

Depends.

If the disc-less PS5 is $399, and the 4tf XS(S)? is 299, then the better option is the PS5. You're getting the same console as the ($499) version for $100 less. Lockhart being significantly weaker than XSX for $200 savings don't seem worth it to me.

the incentive for one seems to be mostly practical...the incentive for the other seems to be strictly financial

This thread won’t make sense till we get prices.

If Lockhart can come in at least $100 cheaper than any of the other consoles it will sell great.

Not if people view it as significantly weaker it won't. Cheaper doesn't automatically mean it will sell more.

Sony has the more clever, if not better, console strategy.

Microsoft is effectively selling two different consoles. Is it planning to compete against Nintendo and Sony directly with each version?

we don't know enough. Lockhart ain't confirmed. people speculating the digital PS5 could have a bigger SDD. MS could have discless version(s) as well. no price for anything

This is how I think the pricing is going to go.

Lockhart - $399 - MIcrosoft will be determined to make some distance with this and the others.
Playstation 5 - Digital Edition $499 - This to me seems like they can't get the hardware under $500 but they have to have a $499 console out there regardless for perception so this is it. This is a concession console that fulfills the tagline of 'Starting at $499.'
Xbox Series X - $499 - I don't think Microsoft really has a choice. $499 or bust. At this point in time, Microsoft does not have the cache to sell a console north of $499.
Playstation 5 - Disc Edition - $549 - This isn't because they want to, it is because they have to. They can't do $599 again. I did it back in 2006 but the memes would eat them alive. For whatever cost the Playstation 5 is costing them, they have to eat it this time around.

I'm buying the XSX and the Disc Edition of the PS5.

So the cheaper PS5 digital edition will cost more than the XSX. :mjlol:
