MS playing chess for real.

A Ubisoft purchase is almost all but guaranteed at some point in the future.

They couldn't buy Ubisoft for the duration of that deal because it wouldn't be approved by the CMA.

Right, and I'm willing to bet that if someone wanted to buy Ubisoft within that time there is some verbage that would somehow ensure that MS didn't lose that ABK cloud privilege.

Although it could really just be something they are willing to sacrifice since it's such a concern for the CMA.

Edit

So in the long run the restructured deal seems to essentially give Ubisoft the same kinda deal as the other cloud deals but with them actually owning ABK cloud games +5 years. I'm assuming MS would just license ABK games for the cloud from Ubisoft for 15 years and gamepass owners see no difference.

The thing I'm really interested in is how acquisitions of Ubisoft would work.

Talk about someone coming along and snatching a bag for 15 years.
