MS would need like 5 Halo 1 killer apps in a generation to even attempt to overcome Sony's market and mind share, along with the Mario and Zelda empire, strictly off "making good games". How many groundbreaking games of that stature are left to make? How many people of that talent level are out there and available? Miyamoto is basically the GOAT, and it still took Nintendo decades (and a TON of dirty plays) to flip his genius into what they have now.

Then maybe they shouldn't have fukking quit trying after 360 and they wouldn't be in the hole.

And yes... If you got 60 billion to buy a studio, you got 60 billion to invest in talent. Ain't a salary out there you can't match and there ain't a studio you can't afford to create if they wanted that too..

Sony is the leader in the console space.

Sony buys studios to increase their position as the market leader and harm the growth of other companies.

If we don’t have an issue with the market leader doing this type of behavior I see no reason to have an issue with other companies doing the same to grow their market position.

It’s really that simple.

But MS players did have an issue.. So WE (gamers) have always had an issue with this tactic. People playing stan wars doesn't negate that buying out companies is a terrible idea for consumers.. It's just that if you happen to own the system who has the most games, it doesn't affect you. But the principal is still horrible overall
