EA makes a billion in microtransactions a year off fifa by itself. Not to mention it would complicate the hell out of its standing sports licences. GTA is the most successful new media franchise ever created.

If anyone people need to be looking at the middle of the road devs and the old Japanese stalwards. Konami's IPs, Capcom, Squeenix, Devolver...that's who would get gobbled up next.

The problem is that those are publishers as well.

I’m not sure why you think selling a assload of games and mtx means anything when microsoft just bought acitvision. They own candy crush, WoW, and CoD…..
