Mick's music post-The Waters really is like jazz. It's mood dependent, as in the mood you're in can determine whether you really like it or can't stand it and you can have that feeling for the same project at different times.
Also you can tell he has a powerful voice but he either chooses to be or can't help but be monotonous. Lyrically he's fire, but he rarely varies his tone or pitch to put emphasis on words or certain bars, he just raises his voice to do it.
I like Mick a lot, and I think I like this album as a whole, but like somebody said on the earlier pages, I thought he was next next but he's just kinda receded into the "consistent but never reaching high level" artist.
