she’s pretty huge in multiple South American countries when juxtaposed with Taylor ..that was the main point of contention.. Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Mexico ..Caribbean
They’re obsessed with her there. Not to mention, her biggest pop hits (before she alienated most of the world with her RnB/hiphop centric records) are synonymous with pop culture itself .. single ladies, crazy in love irreplaceable are more impactful than any Taylor hits despite not having her commercial dominance
Taylor is more akin to a Norah jones or even Shania Twain..
I’d argue that Shakira is bigger than Bey worldwide due to her music being much more universal.
It's not all of SA but it makes up like half the continent and one of the most populated countries in Latin America
So its worth noting Bey is substantially bigger in Brazil
Taylor may be known in Africa but she not Bey famous there and not as big a draw

in regards evolution, keep in mind how technology has evolved
if you tried to entertain a kid today relying solely on the toys, entertainment, programming of MJ's generation
it becomes much more difficult to entertain to wow the proverbial masses each year as time goes buy..
kids got way more access at younger ages now, so for her to critically acclaimed steal a show

Outside of Brazil they are pretty equal in that region. it also explains why she never tours those areas. She would lose money unless she scaled her show down completely.

Another dark area for Swift is Latin America. She has no above par at all from the region. Venezuela is where she does best, but it comes only at #60 still. The 3 biggest markets from there are weak ones for the diva, Brazil (#70), Mexico (#90), and Argentina (#96) are at the lower end of her ranking while Chile closes it (#100).

Again Bey was the face and lead of a world famous girl group and a successful solo artist doing world tours when Taylor was still an unknown. Believe she is more of an icon and more known than Taylor

It is about numbers. If Bey was well known in those areas people would stream her music there.
Those are streaming numbers. It doesn’t matter who started first. Beys music user being consumed much in those countries just like Taylor isn’t
