I've seen almost every episode. It was one of the hottest shows on television when I was growing up. I even had Miami Vice notepad in 4th grade. Friday nights, this show as mandatory in my household back then. Big Booty Trudie was fine as a mf. The only thing I didn't understand is how they kept going undercover in Miami so much without being recognized.

and I don't know how many girlfriends they lost to death during the seasons on the air. The most famous one was Sheena Easton being killed as Crockett's girlfriend by the prisoner he freed.Said the same thing lol
it's a big city but not THAT big in the high level cocaine trafficking/crime world. You ever hear of these two guys? One black, one white? cigarette boat? Ferrari? Anyone who works with them gets indicted?
you have to take cop shows like that the way we take James Bond. They were killing like 50 people a season. Having 10 intense and tragic love affairs over the course of like 3 months. They always play with time in those shows too, very little mention is ever made of time passing.

Yea in the television version, everyone had their comedy lines and it was a upbeat show with a lot of funny scenes. Izzy and Noogie were my favorite rats and once they put those 2 together, it was a wrap. Castillo(Almos) was the only character that never cracked a smile and never joked. Dude was serious 24/7Right. Like a half dozen a season lol -same with James Bond. That's what made the romance in the movie so perfect, Mann got that movie exactly right, and audiences just didn't get it. The Mann version of Vice is the dark romances, and tragic deaths, the network tv shyt was the buddy buddy comedy.

yes. This is true. The most memorable episode to me as a kid was when they were stealing babies and selling them to rich families. At the end of that episode, the lady was about to get her child back who was around 3 or 4 at the time and he didn't want to leave the only family he'd ever known. She eventually let the family keep him and just walked away. I've thought about that episode for damn near 40 years. my cousin, who is 6 years older than me, said, "I would have got my child". As I've gotten older, I don't know what decision I would have made. That episode just fukked me up. You didn't get many happy endings.True, but the real heart of the show was how dark it was. Heroin addicted love interests. Crockett's girlfriend who dies from trying to body smuggle an ounce of cocaine. The serial burglar who painted his face. The rich businessman who raped and killed the girl and got away with it. The porn producer who Crockett threatens and beats down, because he got away with a snuff film. The serial killer escort who falls in love with Tubbs.
That's a dark show. Almost each episode ended on a mixed note. Lost loves and killings. If it was left to Mann, it would have probably been not able to be a hit. It would have been Thief.
people remember it being like a buddy cop series with bikinis, and it was, but it was something else too.
