It won't be the Heat's problem anymore. Brooklyn might be interested if it means they could make a trip to the playoffs, but eh. The Heat don't win by helping him get onto a contender, that's why Pat has firmly made it clear they're not trading him.

Basically, they'll take their chances.

Miami isn't concerned if Jimmy opt-in and if anything that'd be ideal if he were to stay because it'll still be less money than they'd pay if he were extended or offered a new contract.

Knowing Jimmy, and since he's made it clear he doesn't want to stay in Miami anymore, he probably wouldn't opt in out of spite and would still take his chances on the market; it's hard to say if he wants his money, play on a contender, or both.

I wouldn't be surprised if he signed with a noncontender in the off-season; I feel like, at this point, it's about who's going to pay him rather than winning a title.
Is that more spiteful than opting in and feigning an injury? Based on where is stock is now, what team is gonna pay him? He might have to take the option.

It's the Godfather shyt like you already said. The reality is he's been coasting off Summer '10 almost 2 decades with not much to show for it unless LeBron won it.

That whole bullshyt about Riley putting the rings on the table in front of LeBron and that sealed the deal, can you believe that horseshyt :heh:

Just to find out Bron & Wade were cooking something up, like shyt wouldn't of gotten done if Patrick Riley wasn't there. You could've cleared that cap space if they told you they were coming & taking pay cuts lmao. People talk about LeBron making Windhorst, they never say anything about Pat Riley getting made into this mythical figure that you can't question. Like he's not just another slick haired one of them that went down south to set up a shop. They got sick of him in LA and he ran as far away as he could to where he could still be in the US and where nobody heard his military boot camp instructor bullshyt before

I admit I haven't been paying the closest attention to ball lately but I'm shocked at most the replies in here. All this talk about Jimmy ran down etc...yeah now he is. Back when he had the extra gear for the playoffs where was the Godfather? If he's the driving force behind the GOAT offseason for a team, why hasn't done anything close to it again? He had the chance to get KD and failed twice, Heat have been linked to more names the last 3-4 years than any other team easy, how many did they ever get?

So when I can carry us, you don't get help, even though you told me you wanted a contender. Instead they've been trying to fit that conehead african nikka into a square hole he doesn't fit in thinking he's going to be Shaq or that Herro's more than a piece you trade for a star. Now that I'm washed, that's my fault too and have the audacity to try and act funny now, on top of trying to reprimand me publicly, yank a knot in my tail, w.e. you wanna call it? Yeah I'm flipping the fukk out too. Whole organization been counterfeit since I been here just like everything else sold down in Miami
The issue the last few years is that the Heat don’t have a guy who can be the best player on a champion and that kind of player doesn’t hit free agency often. KD could’ve come here and it would’ve been great, but the Heat couldn’t compare with the warriors at the time. More recently the guy who would’ve fit was Dame, but Portland’s GM refused to trade him here and took a not so great deal to send him to Milwaukee instead. All the Heat’s issues flow downstream from this problem too. Jimmy is a #2-3 scorer being asked to score like a #1 and Tyler & Bam are #3-4 scorers being asked to score like 2-3 scorers too. Then guys aren’t able to do as much on defense and as complimentary pieces. Someone has to be willing to trade a star here at the end of the day since they don’t have the cap space to sign one.

Whose job is it to get a guy who can be the best player on a champion? There aren't many and they don't hit free agency, but how many have been traded since Miami's been looking for one? I'm not talking about the Warriors that's too far back. Heat were in trade talks with the Nets when KD asked out before the season, then again that Feb. But he went to Suns because the owner wanted to do whatever he could for a contender. Miami had two chances before the Suns snuck in, then add Dame, then what about the Donovan Mitchell talk? The problem is there's too many names that they're supposed to be strong contenders for and end up playing for everybody but Miami

Someone has to be willing to trade and Riley has to be willing to trade the scraps he has, that's been his biggest problem going back to LeBron leaving him, Bosh getting the clots and that team evaporating. He's had multiple chances over 15 years to shyt or get off the pot but always holds on and overvalues his pieces, then throws his hands up like they did all they could do. He and Danny Ainge are very similar it's just one has more rings on the resume while the other gets Dwade pump fake gifs and laughed at

Jimmy is 35 his trade market might not be that great. I know he wants to cash out one last time but it’s looking iffy.

SHAMS SAID THE AGENT SAID
JIMMY ONLY WANTED TO GO
TO 4 TEAMS.

THE AGENT NEVER SAID THAT.

"SHAMS WAS RIGHT"

NO SHAMS LIED

:mjlol: IMAGINE STANNING
A NBA INFO LEAKER

No he didnt. Shams said jimmy preferred a trade to a contender, and listed 4 teams. Now jimmy prefers to go anywherre else.

The agent acted like Jimmy never wanted a trade. We all know that was bullshyt. He was just tight his name got mentioned. It is common for agents to go around the league and see if theres interest in their guy. Youre the one defending a clown

Maybe the heat didn’t have any players or picks the nets wanted. If it was an owner thing, that’s Arison and not Riley. I went over the Dame stuff. Joe Cronin’s top priority was to trade him anywhere but Miami. He wasn’t even willing to entertain any talks that didn’t include Jimmy or Bam which would’ve put both teams on what Riley calls the treadmill of mediocrity which would’ve made any trade a waste of time for both of them. He just simply wasn’t willing to trade him to the Heat at the end of the day unless the Heat gave up so much for him that the deal would hurt them. They could’ve gone after Kyrie, but he was available at the point where he was bringing the most baggage. My stance when Har_en was available was to stay the hell away from him.

The roster is a good enough supporting cast for a legit top guy, but a lot of all star caliber guys who become available aren’t genuine #1 scorer type players you need to build a real contender.

Partly Pat's fault and Partly Jimmy's fault. But the results are the RESULTS. Usually, when healthy, Jimmy has taken Miami to 3 Eastern Conference Finals matchups, and to 2 NBA Finals in the 5yrs he's been in Miami. You would think, in a conference that has bought LBJ goodwill for making it to multiple finals, that this goodwill would also be afforded to Butler as well in the eyes of the media and in the eyes of users. JIMMY has been the driving force behind carrying Miami further than they've should've gone. This is sustained and consistent post season success save for 2021. Statistically, he's broken heat post season records. He's done too much for his recent outburst to overshadow who Jimmy is/has been for Miami in the post-LBJ/Wade era. Sorry....:manny:

Riley shouldnt have challenged him publicly in the media....if thats what this about i understand why Yimmy pissed.

Miami and esp its fans has to understand ur not getting a star esp a young one in return for Butler at this point...this isnt 2017.

Youre getting back matching contracts, filler and some picks maybe.

Youre not getting D Fox or Zion or KD for a 36 yr old with arthritis.Any team trading for Yimmy is gonna be look him to add him to a team ready to make a run...these dumbass trades of KD for Jimmy are fan fiction and annoying.
