You really think maxing out Dragic is a good idea? :patrice:

did you watch the heat's point guard rotation of chalmers/cole in the first half of last season? possibly the worst PG platoon in nba history, i found myself laughing, crying and shaking my head at how bad PG play was.

they found their best PG since timmy hardaway and paying him what the market dictates is a no brainer. he's going to be a spry 30 next season, doesnt have much mileage on his body and i think his best years are ahead of him. plus the cap is about to go up so he won't be a max player.

not to mention, dude is really fukking good.

I agree on everything you said and he helped save a lot of wear and tear on Wade. Is his max $20 million/year or $15?

even tho he deserves a final big blank check i wonder if wade will opt out and take a discount if there is a legit back up willing to come here. on realgm everybody talmbout gerald green but i doubt we can afford him and deng. even tho we need shooters i really like deng and think he can flourish with Bosh and Dragic

31.5% from deep after the all star break as a team. Second worst in basketball. That's gotta be the first priority.

This doesn't surprise me and it's also why it kinda boggles my mind when people complained that Bosh isnt always in the post.

Dude is, by far, our best shooter so it sucks because he has to provide spacing for the rest of our non shooters instead of working in the high post like he likes.

Notes from Riley closing conference. (missed the first 15-20 mins or so)

-4th time we've been in the lottery, hoping to get a caliber player to fit the mold of a Wade/Caron/Beasley talent wise.
-Isn't targeting a one dimensional player..referenced GS..saying they dont have a plethora of 3 point shooters around Curry/Thompson but guys who can all make plays
-credits the fans for showing up every night and understanding the circumstances the team was going through
-feels confident that Goran will resign, said he rolled the dice on the trade but feels team is in good position to offer him more than anyone else.
-Riley says "no more smiling faces with hidden agendas" this summer. I didnt catch what he said before that so make of it what you will.
****Later referenced this applies to agents and players on follow up question.
-Doesn't want pulling up players from d-league to be the norm.
-Wants developed players, best teams in the leagues are those with developed players.
-Says he, coaches, players dont want to hear excuses
-Says everyone has moved on from last summer, is at peace with the way LeBron left..team gathered themselves, went through disappointing year but happy as an organization with where we are and happy with the players that will show up in training camp in good health. Says we will be right back to competing unlike a lot of people think we can.
-copping pleas for Spoelstra
-Ira asked if Riley can achieve his master plan if Wade continues to miss a quarter of the season. Riley says back in the day very few players played past 34-35 but with nutrition, weight regiments, etc. guys are playing a lot longer. says no doubt we will need Wade every night he is available, calls him the one truly great player in this franchise next to Alonzo that has been the bedrock of the team. Also says Wade has to change the narrative himself about the injuries and missing games. Sounds like Riley believes there is a mental approach that needs tweaking.
