this game is so damn difficult on Hard mode

1. these bosses have annoying gimmicks
2. the fact that Hard mode gives enemies an extra turn makes a huge difference

i run a balanced protagonist stat build but i put more emphasis on luck. If you run the merchant on all 4 characters you can get constant critical hits
Faker broke hard mode I'm breezing through it now with faker assassin mage knight and seeker

In the middle of September now. These optional bosses are level 65 and I still haven't made it out of the 40s :damn:

Boss for Eupha's bond took me a half hour and had my MP depleted. What they start doing when they hit low health is some bs :sadcam:

Just got out of Grand Trad leaving to the first city as per the tournament. Can't wait to see how the story pans out.

The one major issue I have with this game is
it constantly does things that don't respect your time as a player.

I should be able to have say 3 loadouts on each character and shift to them in battle. Instead I have a single one and encounter a boss and if it's wrong I have to close the game reopen it and load a save and shift my single load out to something else.

Save points. Needless. Plenty of games let you save whenever you want. Long games like this especially need that. If you're going to have save points you should also have tent items that fully restore you at them.

The constant locking you out of actions due to other actions. If I go to a dungeon I should still be able to read a book in the evening before bed. I can read a book on the runner but it eats a whole afternoon. Who reads that long? Unless you get an upgrade cooking a simple meal takes an afternoon it shouldn't take more than an hour. They've designed gameplay mechanics that are nonsensical kinda like in a game when you can't climb over an ankle high box to get to a stairway.

I remember getting to the end of Persona 5 Royal and there were a few social links I couldn't complete because a ran out of days to do them or couldn't increase my stats enough and we're locked out of late stages of them. I wonder if this will be the same. Constantly forced to make decisions you have no idea the long term ramifications of.

That's one thing I found odd. Magla Hollows are for what? Seems useless. I don't really need to go to More's place or whatever.

At least in Persona 5 the safe rooms allowed for healing items, in here so far it seems like Magla Hollows are essentially save points to fast travel to when you return to a dungeon.

The loadouts thing definitely feels odd. I think they just made a trade off with the retry battle option being available any time during battle to compensate for not having the ability to change archteypes in game. I think it sort of artificially forces the player to lose if you don't know what's coming.

Despite some odd design choices and a somewhat outdated social simulation aspect. I otherwise really like the core gameplay.
