How do you market the shirts? Do you have to buy ads?

a lot of my traffic is organic but sometimes i do buy Facebook Ads...i have two that brought me consistent sales but overall it's not worth it. i've had my most success posting on forums that are related to the niche my shirts are based around

i have a script that can post to Facebook Groups automatically so im testing that out right now..organic is the best way though

Organic only. No marketing.
What do y'all mean by organic? Grizzly what is the script you're using?

if you have a graphic design background then you have a huge headstart over everybody else...you know what's appealing to people already...most people new to Merch spend months going through a lot of trial and error trying to figure that out

Have no graphic design background. Last played with Photoshop was back in high school... This is real intriguing though :patrice: I'll go and apply for an invitation and do research as I'm waiting for an approval.

Any updates?

No sales yet :mjcry: I haven't put a lot of work in it yet though. Made a few niche shirts, tried 4th of July shirts (bought designs from Fiverr), Father's Day. It's pretty hard when you're in the 1st tier where you can only have 10 shirts.

But I've been thinking I'd rather build a 'brand' rather than sell novelty shirts for all niches. Make a Facebook page, Instagram, buy ads (might not even be necessary if your shirts are so funny/well done that people want to share them). Consistent theme like programmer humor, dad jokes etc.

If you build a brand it gets exponentially easier to sell. People are coming back to your Instagram to look at your new shirts, you have a page with all your products to share, no ads required.

I'd like to here updates from anyone else as well.

How were the designs that you ordered from the fiverr designer? Were they good and orginal/no trademark violation?

They were pretty nice. Probably made from a template. Idk if they were original, but there was no trademark issues. They were 4th of July designs.

Im going to place an order with him and see how it goes. I need to find a couple designers. Ideas are becoming harder and i need to spend my time doing other stuff.

If i were you, i would buy 10 designs from that guy. Split them up. 4 Halloween, 3 thanksgiving, and 3 Christmas. Put the shirts up and price them at $11.60 and just buy yourself out of the 10 tier and maybe even the 25 tier :yeshrug:
