NBA needs to take away the defensive 3 second rule

FIBA has that rule to pack the paint, and it takes Team USA by surprise because they can't waltz in the lane like in the NBA. That's how Australia got back in the game. Team USA is not really loaded on 3 point shooters. And the ones who are knock down shooters are defensive liabilities

League wants highlight reel dunks. You aren’t going to get that with teams camped in the lane. FIBA adapts more NBA rules than vice versa. FIBA lane used to be shaped like a triangle and the three point line was high school.

Wow that got shaky in the 2nd half... We might actually need KD again? He carried us in Tokyo never seen one of our USA teams get carried by a single player like that even though others like Jrue, Book, Tatum, Lavine chipped in there was a clear hierarchy which never happens for USA teams. Pop even said no KD no gold.

They’ll tighten up. Australia was playing for their lives and the U.S. was coasting. By the time the knockouts hit they’ll be clicking. It’ll be good to have KD in the chamber but it won’t be necessary like the last Olympics.

Kerr for his 4 guard lineup… but really it was just complacency and bad game from everyone not named AD

Bron was meh, Book was good, Bam was ok, Ant was great at first but was chucking and not doing much else in the 2nd half…. Everyone else was bad

Curry was getting absolutely picked apart on defense, Hali was getting put into every action with a big and getting abused in the post, Embiid was not good either. Idc what the stats say, the ball movement and pace of that offense was horrible with him on the court. He essentially got benched for AD and never saw the court

My only issue with the Caruso trade was that they should have waited until Draft Night to do it.

Had they used Caruso in a Draft Night trade, with how the board fell, they might have been able to get Buzelis and another 1st in the teens. By getting Giddey when they did, OKC basically knew they weren't going to draft Topic at 11 who they ended up selecting at 12.

A better GM with Caruso on Draft Night gets more... Especially with Sacramento reportedly offering #13 for him. GIddey is solid, but the Bulls will have to cash him out in a year.

I would have been fine with grabbing Matas at 11 since he dropped that far and then trading Caruso to Sacramento and taking Ware with the #13 pick

That sets you up to have 2 cheap controllable contracts on your books for 2 guys that can eventually be starters for you in the near future
