Really, the only thing she could get paid for off the rip is probably the first few dates/meals. At a certain point, I'm going to start expecting reciprocation as the end game is to cultivate and maintain an effective and enduring partnership, emphasis on partnership.

Besides, I don't place much value in material things, such as having the best car or the newest phone, etc. so it would be hard for me to justify coughing it up for somebody else.

the only thing on that list i'd pay for and say men have a direct responsibility for is food and dates and (sometimes) vacations. hobbies and activities are/can be an offshoot of dates depending. if i'm paying for education, a car, a house, we'd be serious beyond girlfriend/boyfriend. that replacing phone, hair, shopping, car, puppy, all that's some serious boyfriend stuff and it's not something i set out to do but i do once in awhile.
