Cain was more likeable and relatable and seemed to realize that he needed to get away from that way of life.

just like he says at the end, he did way too much

i love both movies, you cant go wrong either way

i just think boyz is a little better

I never clarified that part. I think Boyz is better too. I was just saying that Cain's death hit me harder. His past caught up with him.

I thought Boyz had more a lot more layered stories going on while Menace was more linear with its storytelling.

shyt. I can't even lie. Watching Cain get gunned down was the first time I cried watching a movie. Ricky's shyt was sad but Ricky was kind of dikk. I was sadder at their moms turning on Dough after it.

Cain did this to himself (he f*cked some girl and got her pregnant and think it wasn't his and he beats the shyt out girl pregnant 's brother). Cain just don't give a f*ck.

While Ricky was an innocent , he was tried to get out of the hood, go to college or go to army. The movie did center around gang activities and how it affected Tre and Rick.

I love both movies but I'm going with with Boyz N The Hood more.

Cain had f*cked up childhood, raised by his grandparents, his brother went to jail, father is a drug dealer, mother is a crack head, etc

Ricky and Doughboy raised by a single mother without a father but mother shows more favoritism towards Ricky which get Doughboy jealous. Doughboy has nobody to have look up to so he joined the crip and have his boys look up to him.

Tre parents are separating but both are good parents and look out for him and his mother did the right thing cause the father needs to taught his son how to be a man.

I just liked Boy N The Hood just have more than M2S because it has more messages especially the scene where Tre's father brought Tre and Ricky.

Furious Styles: Why is it that there is a gun shop on almost every corner in this community?

The Old Man: Why?

Furious Styles: I'll tell you why. For the same reason that there is a liquor store on almost every corner in the black community. Why? They want us to kill ourselves

Doughboy had it hard. His moms was upfront about the fact that she hated his ass lol....Ricky wasn't dead but, 2 minutes & she was blaming him for it :wow:

Menace II Society is my favorite movie ever...So many classic scenes...and they all pretty much transitioned from one to the next. So many quotables

Him showin the kid the gun
"I feel Sorry for your Mother"
"I got these cheeseburgers"
Harold getting shot up
"Get ya salaakam salaam ass up off the cooler"
"Both ya'll nikkas actin like some bytches"
His grandfather trying to talk sense into him
robbin that fool in the drive thru
spitting at that bytch outside the park "thats one of my natural reflexes"

etc etc etc
