Rashaan Salaam.....Had crazy hype

This is why I think the XFL cxould've worked long term.

They would've had most of the guys mentioned in this thread. At least gave them a second chance to get noticed in a different setting.

To be honest, with the way college ball is so popular/exposed now, a new alt-league could work if they do it right. The "I can't believe he didnt get drafted" players would have a chance and fans of those players would still be somewhat interested.

Play it in the spring right after the NFL draft. Any guys who get noticed could get signed to FA agent contracts or picked up just prior to NFL camps starting.

I remember watching Curtis Enis and thinking "This nikka might run for 2000 in the pros:wow:"

Chris Claiborne....Thought he was a definite All Pro ILB

Andre Wadsworth....The hype surrounding this dude was insane. He had "tremendous character" and was supposedly the best DE prospect since Bruce Smith.Mel Kiper said he was going to average 16 sacks a year in the pros.Dude came out in the '98 draft. Many draft publications/ scouts had him rated as the best player in the draft.....Peyton Manning and Charles Woodson was in that draft:damn:

FSU had a few busts back then unfortunately that nikka Jamal Reynolds was another DE that didn't pan out.

I really did think this dude was the real deal. Granted, busting up his knee on his 3rd pro carry didn't help, but he just never really recovered from that.

I remember beating Alabama and Michigan had UCLA all hot early into that season. Freddie Mitchell going on ESPN talking shyt calling out FSU and Nebraska talking about I scream #1 . Them nikkas ended up going 6-6. :skip:

That 2000 Bama season was :wow: never saw a program go from top 5 to not mentioned at all so fast.

You just watched it last fall breh

I can honestly say I never believed in JaMarcus Russell. He put up big numbers but when they were both hot I really thought (as much as I hated him) Troy Smith would have a better career. Jamarcus only had one very good season at least that got attention. I simply didn't believe in the guy.

dude doesn't even believe in himself anymore

My man went to Ga Southern and pretty much verified that football was the only reason this dude was gonna be something in life. Couldn't read above a 6th grade level and had a learning disability. Said the dude was borderline retarded and that's what kept him from being D-1. But he kept hoes on deck in Statesboro tho :manny:

James Davis from Clemson is a great recent one, there was no reason to believe he couldnt be a great 2nd back at worst. dude did nothing

Anthony Poindexter tore up his knee and was never the same, the fact he fell from possible top 10 pick to 7th round tells his story. shame he was supposed to have next @ either safety spot. could cover and hit

been a Miami fan 20+ years, this is my list (of guys i thought would excel not notable like say a Ken Dorsey who was never a legit pro)

William Joseph

Damione Lewis, had a decent career but really should have been a force as a pass rushing DT

Mike Rumph, never liked him as a pro corner but he was terrible at safety too

Ryan McNeil, he made a Pro Bowl with the Chargers but he should have had a much more complete career

Tremain Mack, also made a PB as a return man for the Bengals but never tapped into his ability. was a drunk and pretty much out for self, he should have been better in college and at least a 6-8 year NFL starter

I was at the Rose Bowl when they upset #3 Michigan back in 2000..had a 80 yard run called back...but still beasted. and then his black ass got caught driving a whip that belonged to a friend who worked for an agent....and that was that.

was better than MJD at UCLA, but nobody will ever remember that much.
He had a couple decent seasons in Carolina.
I still remember that NFC championship td he had that took the soul of the Eagles

And then his td dive in the SB

Kevin Jones I thought with his size and speed he would be a pro bowl RB in the league, but after his rookie year was always injured
