Who is he talking to? I've never heard anyone use that excuse. Of course it affects it, but not to the degree of the millions (and millions!) of viewers they've lost over the years.

BTW I've still never met anyone in real life who has had one of these Nielson boxes, so ratings are just a rough estimate in my eyes.

Cause they would lose hundreds of millions of dollars if they air RAW exclusively on the Network
They make $200 million per year from 2014-2019... Vince gonna have to do something about those ratings. Looking at a gigantic lose of revenue stream when negotiating anew TV deal.

And just like most networks figured it out in 2014 when Vince believe that he could double or triple of what they were looking for at the time. Wrestling is dying and WWE is the one killing it by being a safe and boring product.

The fact the network is doing so well shows there is an audience that wants to watch. I'm sure I'm not the only one who barely watches but has the network, But for how much longer, eventually people like me will drop the network. And if the product sucks how do you attract new fans. I know the way we consume media has changed drastically since the attitude era and we'll never see numbers like that again, but the steady drop in viewership should be cause for concern because as the way we consume media continues to evolve, it'll be harder and harder to gain viewers

I think someone asked about ratings at the last shareholders conference call / meeting and Vince or the CFO used cord cutting as an excuse

Because the mainstream gives no fukks about wrestling
why would they?:manny:

:smugdraper:"this is bob, from the Tonight Show. we had a guest cancel. Send us your top wrestler. Wrestlers are interesting people."

:mjpls:"Okay, we're sending John Cena."
:smugdraper:"Fantastic. Tell us a little about Cena's character, his personality, so we can prepare for the interview."
:mjpls:"Um...... He's a generic whitebread guy who doesn't give up. He has a hat.":mjcry:

first of all fukk "da king".

2nd, you almost feel at some point you should give Russo a chance. Don't give him complete control, but let it be monitored and take it from there. He did a great job with TNA, they were getting their highest ratings with Russo in charge.

WWE already has one of the best rosters of pure wrestlers ever assembled. I'm sure Russo can give them character, sure it might be dumb shyt like "fat chick thrilla" but the casual viewers love dumb soap opera type shyt.

Meh I don't agree with this argument one bit. I mean most of these new guys have no charisma, presence or any sort of mic skills. They're just generic white bread indie guys who can all put on a solid match but are bland as fukk. You can give them characters or gimmicks all you want but if you're naturally un-charismatic and have no confidence being out there, like Bayley for example, there's nothing you can do really.

I did say "pure wrestlers", never said anything about them not being generic

Who are these "bland" indie guys that people keep complaining about on the roster?
