B/c the Nuggets had some fukking good teams. All the Nuggets teams from the past decade have been better than any Melo-led Knick team.
Of the 3 PGs you mentioned, AI is the only player that needed to have the ball in his hands as much as Jeremy Lin in order to be successful. And at that time, AI was still arguably The Answer so I'm sure Melo was OK sharing the ball with him. Be clear, though, the Nuggets got rid of AI b/c it became clear that the experiment of having 2 players who needed the ball all the time wasn't working.
