All them H Town rappers was eating in these streets. She blew up quick like them, but she didnt have the street/money smarts like them.

That's the craziest part about it. Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and Chamillionaire turned themselves into millionaires selling CDs out they trunk, Meg has FAAAR more tools at her disposal and she still signed a slave ass contract. :what:

So say she made a million dollars

600,000 goes to 1501 label

she left with $400,000

then have to pay engineers, feature artist , producers, etc... then add in taxes

she’s left with less than 40,000 dollars or less not including other fees..

to you youngsters out here lurking the coli, leave rap alone and get a regular 9 to 5 , you’ll make more than half of these rappers, especially you chicks who have no idea about the music business ask Mary j bilge, Toni Braxton and Trina

:ninja2:I wonder how dangerous airing this shyt out is...mad props to her for not being intimidated b/c this is some scary shyt.
:lupe:
Is the restraining order merely there to allow her to release music or is she really getting threatened behind the scenes?

Also RocNation obviously ain’t operating out of altruism. Is she just exchanging one set of chains for another?

Hmmm I wonder if there is a way for her to spin this to her benefit?
She need to get in touch with Lifetime and Netflix and make a tell-all documentary.

I can see it now. It’ll be called “360: The Musical Slave Trade”
(Don’t even front like ya’ll wouldnt watch some shyt like that!)
She could play this shyt up REALLY big and ride this wave like a social justice warrior. Be on Ellen/Oprah...start a whole movement against it. #music2 or some shyt like that.

Megan Thee Stallion could become the Joan of Arc for the music industry. Book deals, Netflix documentary/series.

Apparently they got already got a twitter hashtag #freethestallion:heh::heh::heh::laff:

@Barnett114 thanks for the info btws.

The same way how you are amping this is the same way meg is spinning 1501 to be the villain here. shyt happens all the time. And very few posters here will be able to tell you what’s what, only about 3-4 did in this thread, so all this is speculation off narratives and emotions.....

now I wonder what a lot of these new artists are getting I don’t think these guys are making money what they seems to be making
The advent of the internet made it so artists don't really make a lot from sales anymore. If you see an artist touring a lot? They're working but they are making money for themselves and are more than likely straight financially. I've never even heard of a contract where the label takes the show earnings in full. That's slave shyt and she should be ashamed at signing that!

If you see an artist that just drops albums...never does shows and stays in some interviewer's face? They aren't making shyt. The label is though and that's why they haven't been let go.

That was the result of years of grind on their part where they spent the better part of their careers as underground artist.

Not only that, but they were on a label that was built off the back of a unique local cultural phenomenon(screw music) unlike anything else in hip hop, where screw was literally pressing up tapes at his house as a brick & motor shop for music.

They got hip to the game of using an indie local distributor, Southwest Wholesale, to get em out even further on the local market.

We will never see anything in the game like that again, but we really don't see to, cuz like you said the net makes things a lot easier, now.

They don’t keep all her show money. It says it’s paid to them directly. They get the show monet, take their cut, then pay her out. But it’s intentionally presented like that to give the illusion that they’re scamming her. Y’all gotta recognize a spin when y’all see it.
OK I can accept this. I stand corrected.
