Because racial sterotypes are everywhere. And just because one is used or mentioned doesn't make it racist. I think some things can be in bad taste, without being racist. We overuse the word, and it makes us look hyper sensitive to reality. A joke is a joke, and we can't overlook the fact that a young black kid made the joke, while promoting his TV show I might add. They just gave a you silly ass dude some creative control.

Bad taste: yea
Funny: no
Racist: not to me

i think what you mean is that it wasnt intentionally racist, which could be true, the problem with your logic is that using that logic, amos and andy and other black stereotypical characters on old movies werent racist either, they were just in "bad taste"

like i was explaining before, the commercial is best described as hipster sarcasm, where the joke comes from it being so over the top and the fact that tyler is black which produces an irony which some people may find amusing

i agree its not KKK racist, i dont agree that its not racist

I don't see you discuss any other element of hip hop so it's odd that you still dedicate so much of your time online to a genre you disagree with.

i discuss the knowledge element of hip hop all the time, you can find me posting in HL, which from my understanding is suppose to be where the knowledge element is discussed, i only rarely post anywhere else

nah i dont agree with that at all, i dont think exploitation of a situation falls under art, and i think exploiting, which is what rap music is doing, means it doesnt deserve any protection from being in art

rap music is garbage, period

and hip hop is not rap, rap is one element out of nine elements, i spend time on hip hop message board becuase im hip hop not because i listen to rap

I wanna dedicate this joint right here to @theworldismine13

lol, You joke, but the sh1ts true. But crazy white boys eventually can fall back in line with regular .
Truth. I tell my cousins this shyt all of the time. Crazy how if a young black kid fukks up, their entire future is wrecked. A white boy can do a bunch of fukked up shyt and it can be chalked up to just "being young and dumb". White chick can write dissertation on what athletes she's fukked since her freshman yr or appear on a girls gone wild vid and can still become the governor of Alaska but let that be Sharonda who got drunk and gang banged. They'd say she had it coming and knew what she was doing

you know exaclty what i'm talking about. that 2nd version is that crazy white boy speak. saying anything to get a rise out of people. trying to say the most off the wall demonic stuff they can think of that will hurt someones feelings. cause thats how they get off.

thats not a black thing. thats a crazy white boy move.

tyler and crew act like crazy white boys. but their black.

you get it now?

:ehh: So basically black people hating on black people who aren't stereotypicaly black are claiming to be offended at black people being stereotyped.

:dead:

the "black people acting like crazy white boys" peril is a bit overblown, especially when discussing the behavior of adults, but there is some truth to it.

in general, foolishness committed by a black child is going to result in more severe consequences than if the child was white. same for a black employee at work. it behooves you not to get so comfortable that you fukk around and end up doing something that justifies some part of society smacking you down.

still, the lifestyle glorified in gangsta rap is a million times worse than wolf gang. getting excessively angry at them for corrupting the black youth is really pointless if you dont hate practically every other rapper much more.

to rapbeats' point, i have seen black children cross lines that are pretty bad in rhetoric, making fun of a kid who has a mom on crack, or completely turning a poor, dirty kid into a social pariah (that same kid went on to rape and murder an old lady in high school). there really is no difference in severity with these kids jokes, only the method of delivery might be different. white kids might be more ironic, black kids more bombastic

i havent seen the commercial, mountain dew is a lame drink for lamos

tyler is kinda talented, but he has quickly become a hack. earl sweatshirt is the only interesting one over there now.
