rap beats does have a point, the commercial is funny if you put on your white hipster hat on, where its so over the top with the stereotypes that it cant be racist, its hipster sarcasm

but back in the normal world its racist because of the black stereotypes it uses

Its a lot of stuff that uses sterotypes. I just refuse to see it as racist. Especially when the lineups would usually look like that. Cops are always pickin up a bunch of brothas that fit the description. Nonetheless, I doubt it was his intention to be political, probably just wanted his crew in the commercial. Dont see the racism.

No I don't. I've been white my whole life and have never heard a joke like that. You're stereotyping an entire group of people based on their skin color. Sounds a tad bit racist to me, maybe you should be directing these commercials for mt. dew:smugobama:

Please explain to me what the difference between a "crazy white boy" and a "crazy black boy"
i see you didnt read my original post or you can't read. go back and read again.
i said CRAZY WHITE BOY. are you a CRAZY...white boy? if the answer is NO. this doesnt apply to you.

i just explained to you. black kids would call that crazy white boy crazy because to us he would say off the wall stuff and would do the most ridiculous things just to get a rise out of people.

the same version of said guy doesnt exist in the black community until now with the TYLER types.

the black boy version of crazy white boy. would be what i said above the class clown, the dude clowning people all the time. sure he does it to get a rise as well. but he knows he wont go over board and say something as Cold hearted as thats why ya moms got cancer.

i've heard crazy white boys say stuff like that and worse. "i hope your sister gets rapped by a big black guy." yep, heard that one too. crazy and racist all rolled up into one. those are things a black dude wouldnt even dream of saying. especially not a young black dude or a kid.

Tyler and all the millions of black boys trying to be down with this I'm different (but really weird, corny and demonic) movement- makes me sick to my fcking stomach.

this generation is totaly disconnected from the civil rights era, godless kids who grew up in single parent homes who have no repsect for themselves or anyone else. to a certain extent it isn't their fault :yeshrug:

This seems like another case of people not realizing how OTHER people (their consumers) would view the commercial instead of it's creators being intentionally racist. I mean, it's not like a lineup is going to have suspects of completely different racial make-up.

That's the equivalent of saying it's not funny. shyt was just poorly written and thought out.

lol, im not saying it was funny or good, it think its disgusting, racist and more reason why rap music belongs in the bushes

im just seeing it from their point of view, the humor is in it being over the top and the heavy use of stereotypes, thats kinda like the whole MO of their careers and music, in their minds the commercial makes sense and its hilarious and it attracts white kids for its shock value and the hipster for the irony of black kids using black stereotypes

Ahh yes, the lack of melanin allows us to be so much more cold hearted, we've corrupted young black boys now :blessed:

I don't think it was the commercial creators goal to appeal to such an insanely small segment of the population all the while alienating a much LARGER consumer group (black folk). You're trying to look for humor that isn't there. If someone finds this funny they must be brain dead, you could be stereotypical if it's done correctly and written with wit and humor, kind of like how Cheech and Chong are stereotypical.

no. There was rap before this crazy sh1t... You can take anything and make it negative and harmful. Rap music isn't the reason why kids are our here shooting each other and why black men are less educated than black women, etc. Rap isn't even the reason for this new 'semigay, inappropriate, gross, corny, blatantly disrespectful to everything in society' movement that black boys like Tyler want to be a part of.

It's just something we knew we would have to deal with when we decided to have a black middle class... hopefully it stays at a minimum

too much crazy Cac influence on nearly everything, including rap, is what needs to go in the bushes.

im not really sure what it is you are arguing with me for, im not saying it is funny, im saying that from the little world that tyler and his people reside in, it is funny and it makes perfect sense

if you dont think its funny, then we are in agreement

im the one that psoted the story and i agree with what boyce watkins and the website http://raprehab.com/ are doing

dont confuse me explaining why whoever made it thought was funny with me defending the commercial

lol, You joke, but the sh1ts true. But crazy white boys eventually can fall back in line with regular society.

The crazy black dude at a urban high school is a hell of a lot different than the crazy black guy surrounded by white people. The second guy is going to say sh1t to make you cringe and/or make you grossed out. Also that second guy is extremely defensive because he put himself into a position to be looked at a certain way by common black guys - so then the crazy black guy is basically going to be shunned by the average black guy. There is a spot for all white guys, normal black guys, thugs, nerds, gay, etc.

The crazy black guy who wants to be a crazy white guy- is going to be lost in social space. Everyone should fit in somewhere.. there's a spot for everyone.. but eventually the crazy black guy realizes that his act is getting old... and he black bridges have been burned... Then the truth about all the white people hits him like a brick - some of them like him but really no crazy black guy will fit in with any of their circles.

not arguing with you breh, just conversing. I'm not familiar with Tyler the creator at all, never dug his music so I guess I just don't understand their culture.

How is one crazy better or worse than another though? That part doesn't make sense to me. So the second black guy will say crazy off the wall shyt and the first will beat the shyt out of you?

I mean, I've said some crazy shyt before but always in a comedic or sarcastic manner (and I actually have a sense of humor so it isn't purely "crazy")

i dont give a fuk if rap isnt the reason why, im tired of people suggesting that critiquing art is some kind of sin

how about this, i think rap music is garbage because i think rap music garbage period, all art isnt good, sometimes art is garbage and should labeled as such, regardless of what is going on i society

i could argue your point but i dont want to, i invoke the right to critique black art in and of itself
