I can understand license to ill not exactly being a true hip hop album but Paul’s Boutique is a groundbreaking landmark album for hip hop imo

You could argue De La did that kinda album better tho

I probably played A Gangster and a Gentleman more than anybody in NYC.

But having that over Stakes Is High is why we can't really take these lists seriously.

People are gonna always have sh*t in their Top 100 that you wouldn't even have in your Top 300, or even remembered existed.

Word that shyt was flawless Illmatic of drill tapes in that it’s short, sweet cohesive, no skips, has a soundscape/aura, holds it down by himself with no features

I’m surprised son put a modern project up there at all didn’t expect nothing past 2004

If we talking contemporary I’d throw A boogie’s Artist and Live.Love.A$AP up there as well and that WSG FlyGod

No Lox group/solo album should be anywhere near a Top 100 albums list...not even a Top 100 NY-only albums list. That's just wanting to throw Jada and/or Styles on the list because they're Jada and Styles, it aint because of the album quality. Kiss the Game Goodbye is barely a C, Gangster and a Gentleman is a C. I'd say "We Are The Streets" is their best, most impactful commercial release and that shh!t is like a C+ at best, imo.
