It wasn't that easy to get in back then at our age, if you weren't a chick or well known. You kinda had to just hope you'd be able to stroll in smooth and be alright, lol.

But CRU was in heavy rotation at The Tunnel. Those joints with the LOX, Black Rob, Slick Rick, and "Pronto" were CRAZY on the system in there! For a couple years, they played them in there nonstop. That's what made me buy the album.

Dirty 30 should be on there for sure, production is phenomenal and it's fun as hell to listen to. Stayed in rotation for a long time.

The same way a 19-22 year old wouldn’t be able to gauge the impact of a Diamond D album is the same way a middle aged man wouldn’t understand the impact of this project and Highbridge Vol. 1 those tapes got madddd play for what seemed like a couple years locally

I can’t believe it’s been so long but you can throw on DTB in any function in NYC with 90’s and 00’s babies and they’ll sing that shyt word for word

That’s #112 on the extended list I’m not a bitter oldhead

Pop Smoke Meet the Woo 2 is literally on the current list and Meet the woo 1 is #110

Yeah I don't get it neither. Diamond D is one of the best rappers who made their own beats. Same with Beatnuts being one of the best rapper/producer combos. EPMD only getting one album nod in top 100. This guy has something against rappers making their own beats lol.

Diamond D's Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop is better than quite a few selections from that top 100.

This here.

EPMD has a few albums that should've been up there. Beatnuts too. Easily. I try not to clown the opinions of others. I'm a work in progress, lol. But not having certain albums on your Top 100 list, kills your credibility. 100 is way too many to be missing certified classics.

Slots 10 to 4

Paid in Full at #4 is wild.. shyt only 6 songs really. 6 strong songs of course, but come on

Chinese Arythmetic
Eric B is on the cut
As the Rhyme goes on

Those 3 songs invented the term filler.

it aint better than Illmatic
It aint as well rounded as Great Adventures
its nowhere better produced than Low End Theory or Midnight Marauders
I prefer Reasonable Doubt if I was stranded on an Island
Ready to Die better lyrically and musically...

Its def a top 15, but its too short for a top 10

Watch Norman Connors come for me tho...lol

Im being honest. Its a top 1 or 2 80's rap album for sure

Unfinished Business is considered arguably their best album and I can't seem to find it anywhere in top 100. I don't get this at all. EPMD getting mad underrated. The crazy amount of great music their provided from late 80s to all the way through 90s. I guess everyone has their own opinion. Rating that mediocre Jadakiss debut album over Unfinished Business :russ: and so on

I haven't stopped playing that album since around when it dropped. Super dope album, and mad fun to listen to, like you said.

Out west almost nobody heard of Cru, including me. But I heard the Slick Rick song and bought it off that. Everyone I ever shared that album with loved it. Wish they'd gone independent and kept going. At least Yogi got some shine with The Hitmen.
