They only fought Thanos in two movies...lol
They definitely 'doing that again', the big culmination events are the billion dollar movies. They not leaving that on the table. It is just going to bigger so the foundation of it is taking longer.
I didn’t say anything about fights or speaking. He was the big bad for yearssssss. We were introduced, we knew he was coming, we kept begging for it for half a decade plus, then we finally got it.

I also didn’t say they won’t have a big bad period. I said they won’t have the same guy playing the same character for 10 years. From the very first day we see whoever it is… 10 years from that point, that dude won’t be there no more.

That’s all I’m saying. That’s all Kevin said. You can see by these 1000 shows and movies, they aren’t even working like that anymore. Hell, Tony was the only one who lasted all 10 and they got him and everyone else except thor up out of there.

Avengers can team up and fight a guy that’s been in for 5 years and with the tv shows and movies he can show up in that time, it’ll triple the thanos appearances and still get him out of here quick

Mark my words. They won’t make it 10

This is the main reason I think y’all are off. They’ve said numerous times they won’t do a big bad over the course of years like Thanos again. nikka was in 3 damn phases over 10 years.

They aren’t doing that again. And if they ain’t doing it, then how can you expect to see some guy playing these characters from 2026 to 2036? If Doom pops up in BP2, y’all think we gonna be watching the avengers team 6 fighting him in 2032 still?

Come on fellas
DOOM is a very vital piece in regards to Secret Wars and we’re still ways from that taking place. His dynamic between the F4 is key and even they haven’t been introduced yet. It wouldn’t shock me at all if we’re still seeing him on screen in ten plus years.

His character and impact in the comics is far greater than what the MCU dealt with in Thanos. They’re not going to just toss him aside.

Also, it’s better to not put too much stock into what Marvel PR has to say. This is the same team who said Moon Knight would “ramp up the boundaries of brutality”.

Eh, I think the lackluster reception to Phase 4 will force them to eventually go back to big story arcs that span multiple phases and movies. The MCU is still riding the wave of the Infinity Saga but at some point crowds will stop giving them the benefit of the doubt if they aren't able to churn out films that are anything more than a fun movie that you don't really need to go the theater to watch.

The fact Feige already had a big ass summit to plan the next few years kind of tells me he's already thinking about what to do after F4 and the mutants are introduced.

I'm not sure if they'll ever try to adapt Hickman's Avengers-Secret Wars run but the truth is that it's basically a home run waiting to happen if executed correctly. Because it would not only bring the Infinity Saga feeling back, but it would also help them reboot or reset everything once it's over (something Marvel comics refused to do at the very last second).

I’ll admit I’m kinda stuck in the first three phases from a cohesion standpoint. They were thought out, they directly connected, had an guy controlling everything from behind the scenes (thanos) and 10 years of films just to set up that final one. You in there from thor’s ship to Tony’s snap pointing out every character and instantly remembering a detailed backstory and your heart is in it.

Now I look at phase 4 and y’all right. It feels like a bunch of loosely connected, scattered all over the place, random fukkery. I’ll probably see thor tomorrow but I expect more of the same. Few cameos and mentions. Then we got what? 2-3 movies in this phase?

Yea they have to get something going. And I’m putting faith in them having a plan and that means sticking to it. When really I should give them faith to be smart enough to pivot from this plan when it’s not working.

Cause it’s not working.

If they're doing Secret Wars they need to get Doom in the mix ASAP. We need the audience to get familiar with him so that:
God Emperor Doom hits that much harder. Imagine getting the Thanos spine ripping scene in live action. The theater would go ape shyt. :blessed:
I wish we got to see this. Could legit see them pulling this off too considering Thanos wasn’t even human and we already had the decapitation scene in EG. This current phase ain’t ready at all for God Emperor DOOM. :wow:

You gotta be real careful with casting Victor Von Doom because he's a winner. He's ultra arrogant and always had the upper hand...maybe the most successful human in comic history. So his push is something to look forward to...Mr. Sinister can be a whole lot of fun if pushed correctly.

The heralds are gonna be dope if done correctly...the Silver Surfer is something I can't wait for. Ultra noble, all that power, the saga from hik being a herald to being a hero...it's greatness. He was surely missed in the Infinity movies.

@Lootpack I didn't know you were another Doom stan. :snoop:

He's a great character, I've made posts about his importance to Marvel but his stanbase is fukking insufferable.
If that’s what it came off as, then yikes lol….my bad. I just wanna see him make it on the big screen, cause those Fox F4 live-action movies didn’t exactly leave a lasting impression. :francis:

That I can understand entirely, Doom is a character that you can use to go in so many different directions but he has to be executed properly. Plus the mask makes it possible to switch out actors if necessary, just like the CGI for Thanos' actors.

Doom is perfect for a 6-10 episode Disney+ series. You establish him in the first F4 movie, then you do a mini series were you have him unleash his fukkery and he's set as a big time player.

I'd love an adaptation of Trial & Torment but I feel they already wasted it :mjcry:

Maybe not the cgi and budget would have to be on point. i'd rather he stay in motion pictures
I don't think you need that big of a budget for an origin story for Doom, I think they can do fine with a Loki type budget and a smaller cast.

The early days no but as things get more cosmic then yeah
That's my point though, he's a perfect character to give it enough depth in a series with multiple episodes so you then let him be full Doom in the movies.
