I'm not talking about the people purchasing the Jordans.
I'm talking about the people being exploited to make these goods
for extremely low pay (which of course includes far more than
JUST Luxury Sneakers).
And it continues to happen even though it's at the point
that many people know of sweatshops and those same people don't seem
to care much at all
as long as their standard of living isn't affected. This omnipotent free market you go on about likely would've kept
slavery going as well as open discrimination at various establishments
as long as profits were up.
It kind of works against minorities when you have less financial power to influence
these businesses to change
or in the case of those workingsweatshops (something akin to slavery) have no influence whatsoever.
I think America from the 1960's and back is a perfect example of this.
When government didn't have a bigger hand in making people act right, they did

The government is 3 laps past corrupt and 17 trillion past broke. We need major changes in this country, price/ wage controls are definitely not where we want to start though.

That's all cool and the gang, but her libertarian philosophy would be opposed to using the government to tell individuals what to do with their property; in the case of slavery- human beings and in the case of segregation- private businesses.
So it really doesn't matter what her personal beliefs are regarding racism.

Who is saying that? My position is the belief in individual liberty and the free market wouldn't allow a libertarian to use the power of government to end slavery. Especially if slaves are as they were during that time considered private property.
Protecting the unalienable rights of the individual is a state function libertarians support. Are you asking whether or not blacks would be property or not? cause thats a whole different issue...

Robbie you are completely wrong on this one. She explicitly states in atlas shrugged that slavery is the worst injustice in the world according to her. Slavery is literally the thing her philosophy goes against most. and Rand was not a libertarian and did not like them.
