now, on Drink Champs he said he was only taking 5% admin fee from the publishing. he said this is the contract Nas signed. of course I didnt see the contract but if he was telling the truth his portion is only 5%
I think he needs to sell it to a company that can take over that admin. That's why selling it to Nas isn't in his interest.now, on Drink Champs he said he was only taking 5% admin fee from the publishing. he said this is the contract Nas signed. of course I didnt see the contract but if he was telling the truth his portion is only 5%

That will NEVER happen.he should give it to nas...vs selling it
MC Serch of pioneering Hip Hop group 3rd Bass has decided to sell 100 percent of his holdings in Nas’ iconic catalog, which includes Illmatic (1994) and It Was Written (1996), both of which he executive produced.
This is false. Steve Stoute/Trackmasters Executive Produced It Was Written.
Guys no one owns 100% of their publishing. You give a % away to a company to administer it for you. Meaning they charge and keep track of other media/public venues using your music for you and send you a check. If you own 100% of your publishing YOU have to do all that work. Nas is not getting Serch's % it was for admin of the music. Nas is not interested in administering his own.music. No artist is.
Yeah, sure but for what? It's the admin fee for his music. I guess it would be more uniform for whoever is doing the rights for all his other music to also do this. But does it matter? Not really.but couldn't he get it back then sell it to a firm/whatever he would want to admin it?
Do it on his terms and all that (would that even be worth it?)
