How long will it be until we get rid of the bootlick mentality that poor people deserve to be poor and don't deserve a livable wage? I've noticed a lot of coli brehs saying working in fast food restaurants don't deserve a good wage because it's a starter job and should find higher paying jobs, but we wonder why there's unemployment increase and poverty while the 1% gets richer. Yall use principle to justify how American capitalism works, but principle doesn't have everyone's mouths fed.

And remember when the economy tanked? People who worked career positions had to take low-wage jobs to try to rebuild. Not everyone is a career service worker with no ambition. That McDonalds job can be the only earnings a former 50k+ wage earner has. When industries dry up, they won't have any options
outside of running up in your spot.

Anyway, yes, this will take jobs, but it’s clearly the most logical next step in a lot of low skill industries. Once they get better merchandise protection, I could see most retail places going to self checkout - they got it in grocery stores, now to apply it to apparel, home goods, etc
