So he was like “I’m here with my Cousin, we waiting to meet 9th Wonder, my cousin went to Central with him and he setting up a meet up so he can listen to my beats”

I was like “OH WORD!!” So I kinda just tagged on like “well I’m rolling with yall!” Lol

When 9th arrived, we all went to my boys cousin hous out in Clemmons and basically listened to beats.

Then 9th basically started telling us the process of him making The Listening and then at the time starting playing us songs that would later appear on The Chitlin Circuit and some mixtapes

Like I was probably one of the first few peeps that heard the track he did with Kanye

In addition to a bunch of other shyt…. Cuz we was over there like from day 8pm to about 2am

:mjcry: amazing. They breezed by get back and left back but besides that I have no complaints. They cooked 9th again even after you thought they’d moved on lol.
Akso re: the last sentence. He does get cooked but to be totally fair this is the tell all documentary of the full LB story. 9th was reached out to to be in the movie but chose not to. Pooh and Phonte air out grievances with each other on here too. It didn’t seem that unfair to me.

@TheDarceKnight what's the backstory of how Scudda and JL linked up? Isn't he originally from Georgia?
Joe is from GA but he was in Raleigh and ended up spitting a freestyle on stage when Treach from Naughty By Nature asked people from the crowd to come up and rhyme. Treach told Joe the list was full but Joe started rapping in Treach’s face and Treach let him rock on stage. He had no recorded songs at that point either.

9th was at the show and afterwards Joe connected with 9th and started crashing on the couch and making songs with the League and the rest is history.

Yes man I was lucky…. Right time and right place.

Cuz from that moment 9th became a homey.

Like every time Ive ever seen him, he never “big timed me”

He’ll always show love. We had like actual conversations about life and shyt.

And not to mention from the hometown we know a lot of the same people.

Like I got another one for you, Big Remo. I grew up with that nicca. Talking middle school.

I can tell yall something else but yall would’ve even believe me

Bias aside, this was a really good documentary. Despite covering the career of LB, I love that the underlying message was about being able to grow as people and communicate with each other. I’m glad they didn’t shy away from the fact that their split was completely avoidable if they just actually talked to each other.

They did 9th dirty in this. Even though by multiple accounts, he is a bit of a diva, the fact that he didn’t want to give his side of the story made it feel like they were piling on him :heh:

Watching this made me feel so nostalgic because I was just a kid on the internet when I discovered LB/Justus League and I’m 30 now :dead:

What Dan Charnas said was so on point about LB making music for every stage of your life.

finished the doc. What Phonte unpacked during COVID was :mjcry: but was a solid watch.

Little Brother was right for who they are, what they did, the time period they came in, and the level of fame they achieved.. and I’m glad it seems they acknowledge that and at peace with it :ohlawd:

Also communication being a constant theme was powerful.
