I am blessed as well. I can buy my kids clothes from JC Penney, shoes from Payless if I want to.Thankfully my kids go to a school where kids are wearing skechers, fila, and target clothes. They aren't focused on being fresh with polo or having the newest j's.

this right here, if I had a child I would tell him to stay with me and save his money... fukk blowing his money on rent where he can just stay here and save his money, just make the simple math u spend on rent yearly at that money bsitting in ur bank acount...idk how much I would breach about the importance of credit..
To parents kicking there child out once they turn 18... my friends mom would contantly remind him that at 18 he had to get his own place
Also parents that charge there child rent, wouldn't suprised me if this only happens in america.
No it isn't but some of you dudes like to feel y'all better than cats for some strange reason so that's what y'all like to hype up. Whatever you seeing on the gram is a reflection of who you're following and or looking at.one of the most accurate posts of the 21st century.
No it wouldn't some just making excuses for their avg being monetarily. This is a issue where a person has to have it monetarily and not want it before I believe them. Like you said most people want "nice" things but some want to live like hermits but don't have too? Yeah I'm not buying that from the majority of peopleIs the problem materialism or something else? Many of the examples given in this thread sound more like a priority issue. Most humans like "nice"things. Whether the adjective that proceeds it is shiny, pretty, expensive, fly, what have u we almost all like and wish to obtain something we deem of value. Most times we want the thing that we think requires some work to obtain. I can't say there anything wrong with that until it becomes a vice.
Would it be wrong to buy the things mentioned in this thread the other vital aspects of life were fufilled?

Most people wouldn't admit it anyway even if they were but when dudes on that look at these dudes I'm totally different that's the vibe it carries. Who cares if you wearing Wal mart clothes shyt don't make you no better and or frugal. That's how some dudes here portray it at times. Its always the I wear Wal mart clothes and have money like people can't have material things and money at that same time. That's my beef with this stuff. You also admit at one point of time you was one of them dudes you're talking about now? I think that's another thing I don't get most dudes used to be these same type of dude now acting like that was never them. Stuff is just weird to me.I don't think I'm better than anyone nor do I have a desire to, I'm a very humble person and I've refrained from using social media for this exact reason, I too once was on social media trying to portray a lifestyle that I couldn't actually afford.

It is weird when people try to act like they are soo above it and they used to do it. That's that bullshyt right there. Its a part of all culture in America and people being insecure/crabs leads to animosity and conflict. There's nothing weird about watching others take part in dysfunctional behaviors and commenting on them as a person who used to do the same things. I personally think it's a part of Black culture, and is something that leads to animosity and conflict between Black people.

We will just have to agree to disagree because materialism isn't close to the woat for the community at all. Only place killing is going on for the most part is the same place it would be going on even without materialism and that's the lower income areas.Yes "_____ people do it too" but our crime rates are not comparable to other groups, we're disproportionately killing each other which brings us back to the thread title, in spite of other groups doing it too: Materialism is the WOAT thing for the Black community.
