Well difference today vs back then the music was such formulaic you had balance on the radio. I’m just saying Master P and Baby showed dudes how to get money. Even you got out west you had cats selling music out there trunk and down in Houston from screw tapes to Slim Thug. So when it comes time to get the major deal dudes not accepting anything. We always been good at starting movements supporting each other etc. NY battle each other boro vs boro no unity an easy divide and conquer.

Thing is you looking at too much from a biased opinion....Plenty of down south cats signed bad deals back then and had to pay their dues....outkast, 8ball mjg, scrafce/geto boys, ugk...at the end of the day their music lives on and stays relevant so they can write their own checks now .....Fact of the matter each region had their have and have nots

Ironically it was the West Coast who innovated the independent hustle....Read up on E-40 and his uncle....ironic you mentioned Htown cause you could easily say they dropped the ball mostly due to beef and division....Same with Memphis even more soo...Same exact problems that killed NY and LA....

I agree region hate is corny cuz if you black everyone started in the south. The slaves ran up north but everyone from the south.Bottom line P and Baby legends they done some historic things in this rap game. Giving away shyt and then falling off musically is why he eventually had to sell for cheap. But again, he sold it. So that’s even more money and in cash.

I would say P is a hustler. He might not make the best music, or food, or even get you the best sports contract. But he’s gonna be out here selling it and making a profit at the end of the day.
