Next the DOJ will announce that their Zimmerman investigation is closed because they could not find evidence of racism on his part.

That will be the straw that breaks the front glass window of K-Mart so we all can get free flat screens and dish towels.

I don't really think you can compare crime in a dangerous city to the outcome of a court case that was nationally televised around the world

One affects the people who live in the area, the other makes a legal statement and possibly sets a precedent that could possibly one day affect millions. Larry Elder is looking at the superficial. I understand why black folks are angry that a judge and a panel of their peers officially ruled a man can pursue an unarmed black teenager, kill him, and go free. That means something legally. The violence in Chicago is a social/moral issue but little more. Kill somebody, go to jail...the circumstances have no real bearing in that context.

The problem with comparing the Chicago murders (its a false equivalency anyway, but even putting that aside for a second) is that if/when those murderers are caught, they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Hell, they don't even have to be "murderers" so to speak, as long as they are involved in the drug trade that is the likely cause to the murders anyway, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Zimmerman was a murderer who they first didn't even want to try and then, after being forced to try from public outcry, was allowed to go scott free. Essentially he was a murderer who was able to stalk his victim, begin to a lose a fight with him, and murder him with nonsensical claims of self defense. That doesn't happen in Chicago, not when they have the killer right in front of them with the smoking gun still in his hand.
