No, no doubt it was random area firing. He wasn't aiming at targets, he was just getting out a mass of bullets as quickly as he could.
Buying a gun illegally ain't no fukking human impulse. It's not like people have a "need to buy a gun" gene or some sort of psychological addiction to illegal guns and laws against it are useless to stop them. We're not talking drugs or alcohol or some addictive substance.
