Mass Effect: Andromeda

Alright. I finally beat Mass Effect's campaign. I'll have to come back and do side quest later. Felt like a chore and the story wasn't interesting at first. But the story picked up after the second half. Ready to start ME2. Apparently this is the best one in the series.

ME1 had the best story but gameplay wise didnt age well. ME2 is probably the most playable experience. Less micromanaging, straight to the point. Game follows a basic formula gameplay wise but its not repetitive.

And for everyone whos feeling Andromeda... Everyone was feeling it for the first 20 or so hours. Then the extreme repetition and lack of payoff sets in. For 20 dollars or less its cool, but believe me you will be disappointed upon completion even if you got it for free.

I think that's true. There's just so, so much 'tell' and not 'show' in Andromeda as well.

You're never 'first' to any planet. That's the whole point of the game - to be the pathfinder, yet for some reason you're also late to the party all over the cluster.

"there was a mutiny, it changed everything" Really? It sounds lit. I would've loved to be there. I probably could've made all sorts of important decisions and the gameplay itself? ....it goes to show you can actually have good combat by itself, but horrible inventory/equipment systems/progression and painfully stale engagements that almost never differ, regardless of the enemy types and bosses.

But yeah, for 20 bucks whatever.... you can do a lot worse in that sense.

Thats actually a really cool idea... What if you did find a planet and it was habitable...but then motherfukkers came through started a war with all your people...leading to nuclear fallout....which would force you to look for more planets.

Instead it was what you said...go here go there, already people running the place and for some reason you terraform it even though people already living there. OK..

Intro should've started with the mutiny - see the leader die, sort out their ideals vs the mission and line it up with what YOU think the new world should be, cast your vote for the new leader and see clearly who opposes it and why, etc

see who leaves the station and why then bridge the gap again instead of sorting it all out like "hey i'm the new guy, i know you don't know me lol" all the damn time. it should be "you already know my fukking name (like shepard) and we can talk about this or not talk about this"

they just didn't follow writing 101. game suffered as a whole from it

only thing decent imo was the dilemma of the AI. and even then they just kind of threw that one on you (which would've been better if they did something with it all later)

girl trying to tell me not to blow up that base can kick rocks and walk home.... fukk i care about your big headed loser race i literally have no reason to ever care about the fukkin angara under any circumstance. that party member is only on the ship because of space-affirmative action, optics, and outreach. homie had ZERO pull in our decision making

I'm willing to give them an excuse for not have the time nor environment to make a great game.

That said; it's a 5/10 game. I used to have it as 6/10, til I play through Dragon Age Inquisition for the first time and found out they were the same damn game...made 3 years apart

That book shyt pissed me off. I want dlc, Andromeda got me reeled into the series, but I don't do comic books.

Playing ME2 right now and it shyts all over the first game. Story is much better and so is the gameplay. Kinda plays like Gears. I'm actually interested in the side missions and characters and I don't feel the need to rush this game like I did the first one.
