I'm playing through ME1 right now and if this ain't the most boring game. Combat trash and the story is boring. Don't let nostalgia cloud your judgement about this game.

If you beat ME1 and say that the story is trash I don't know you. Especially in comparison to something like Andromeda. The combat was dated when it came out, so its probably awful now. Don't care. It was an RPG long before it was a shooter.

I agree the gameplay in ME1 was trash but the only reason I beat it was because the story was piff. MEA might got the others beat when it comes to gameplay but it still came off as a chore since everything else was trash.

You know what. You're right. I haven't beat it yet. But the combat and controls in general make this game feel like a chore. Gameplay plays a huge part into how good I think a game is and the gameplay is subpar. It's making me not want to do any side missions and power straight through the campaign. ME2 gameplay is better right?

I really liked the story in MEA. I guess this is because I just now joined the series. I bet if I would have played ME1 in 2007 I would appreciate the series more. I'm still playing through 1 and I'll be on 2 and 3 soon so maybe my opinion will change.
Oh, my bad. I didn't know you started the series with MEA. I started with ME2. Which is my all around favorite from the series, played ME1 during the wait for ME3, I struggled to ignore the gameplay at first but it became easier to ignore it once the urgency in plot kicked in and it gave me more reasons to appreciate the characters tin ME2.
I don't want to tell you how to play the trilogy but I think you should go mostly paragon and try to keep all your squadmates alive.

ME1 is a legendary game with amazing stories.
I been play MEA for about a few hours, i can already tell controls alone would keep this game from that level of praise
