I'm surprised by this ruling.

Didn't Vanilla Ice get away with jacking that Queen bassline for 'Ice Ice baby' just becaue one note was different.

No. He lost some publishing and now Queen and David Bowie's are credited writers on "Ice, Ice, Baby". Peter Gunz and Lord Tariq also lost full publishing on "Deja Vu, Uptown Baby" for jacking the steely dan sample. Another big case was the rock group "The Verve" Classic song "Bittersweet Symphony" which was a Rolling Stone jack that they lost the case and all publishing on the song.

Robin Thicke culture vulture now, eh? A lot of blacks let him in with wide open arms. Said he wasn't like Timberlake, had soul.
How is Thicke a culture vulture? He's been making r&b for 20 years and is a respected writer. What does his color have to do with anything.

The jacker here is Pharrell, who "produced" the track and won't even admit it's heavily inspired by a Marvin Gaye song. If there's one person in this who more than likely talks down about black people "keeping other blacks down" it's Pharrell, who literally said that shyt when he joined the new black movement. That shyt isn't new, it's been going on since Booker T Washington's c00n ass was telling ****** jokes at the White House.

Pharrell: But it's not the same, it's in a different Key.

:mjlol:

I think that's up there with Vanilla Ice saying:

"No Mines goes ding, ding, di di ding. There's goes Da, Da Da dadda Da".

LOL.

Lawyer: *Hands Pharrell music sheet* Can you read those notes of transition for me Mr. WIlliams
Pharrell: I'm not comfortable X8
