He doesn't have to the way people recounted stuff from IW in WandaVision it's like the movie we watched is just a documentary the characters watch in the MCU. lol
One thing about casting his sister. she actually kinda resembles one of his real life sisters
They had to find a way to make Falcons sidekick even more little brother status than Falcon is. kinda challenging cuz Falcon is the still the annoying little brother type that he was for Cap. Like giving Scrappy Doo a sidekick, it they bring too much, they start to overshadow him and feel like big little brother. Can't be funnier, can't be more badass, so has to find a way to be slow while still being likeable. I lol'd when his dumbass texted falcon a picture of his face with a black eye after getting beat up like

some of the stuff would make people freak out
we know they don't know about time travel.

I mean...there's homeless vets in real life. So it's not as if there's no real world precedent for it.
Having said that, dude could expose the bank that didn't give him a loan. On some "we saved the entire universe, and this bank just shyt on me"....which would obviously be terrible PR for the bank.
Have people like Warmachine or maybe even Cap himself speak out against the bank too.
In this social media era that's how this would unfold in real life.
But they're not looking for an easy answer here, they're trying to work social commentary into the MCU. So I doubt this will be resolved so easily.

Yea I get there are homeless vets, but most of them have some form of PTSD or other mental illness that is preventing them from working. Sam seems to be a likeable guy with a lot of connections but above all else, he's a super hero. Its just odd to not take care of the people keeping your country safe from villains.
I agree with the social commentary, though. It was a good scene at its core.
I get that but Sam is a well connected Super Hero. He isn't the average vet that slips between the cracks.
I mean he kinda did slip through the cracks by being dusted for 5 years.
