I would imagine billions of people who vanished for 5 years all came back and had to go through other people living in their homes, running their businesses, and the distribution of wealth transferred accordingly.

Dealing with the social and economic impact of what happened, actually is quite unique.

It's funny how some people who would otherwise critique the MCU for being vapid now hate real world problems being reflected in the material.

btw Disney is killing it with these shows

look how great wanda vision and the first episode of this was compared to the punisher/daredevil / iron fist/ luke cage etc.

one feels like watching a long big budget movie while the other feels like a cw finale budget

the director for this is far better at the hero stuff than the WV one.

what do you think the producers are going to do? or might do?

Unless they make Torres do a heel turn (he seems sketchy), Sam has to take it eventually.

Being that there has been and will be backlash and black characters taking the mantle from white ones, it would be dope to see him have that debate on screen and turn it down.

like politics vs. real politik we have the "MCU in-story universe" and we have the "MCU the Disney real world $$$ business production company".

the MCU business made a mistake in choosing a side-man actor for the role of the Falcon, not anticipating that they might, 7 years later, want to promote him to a lead position.

they emasculated Falcon in TWS by making it clear he was following Cap's lead, was weaker than Cap ("on your left" - repeated in EG) and had him explicitly say "I do what he [Cap] does but slower" which all mark Falcon out (in narrative) as a worse "Cap" than Cap.

Falcon must have said and done 10 side-man things in that movie alone ("when do we start [boss]", "beaten in 10 seconds by Bucky", "I need a new set of lungs", "do you people eat", "how much do you weigh" etc) and he followed it up with more of the same in Ant Man and CW ("beaten again by Bucky in 10 seconds when Cap has beaten Bucky at least twice").

and on the acting side, if they were filling that role today, they wouldn't choose Mackie because he just isn't a commanding a figure for a front role and he is a poor actor.

the MCU made that bind for themselves but that is the position they find themselves in because of their habit of pushing black heroes to the background in side-kick roles.

-

so what are they going to do? who knows? I think it is unlikely that Falcon will become "Cap the leader of the Avengers". He might become Cap for a while. Bucky being played by another poor actor and with his in-world history is no way going to become Cap.

they might give it to US agent (as a less than ideal choice) or they might just leave the MCU without a Cap for a bit.

MCU's New Captain America Actor Teases Differences To Steve Rogers

"I don't think there's really been many MCU characters who've had quite the dilemma he's had in terms of trying to fit into this sort of moralistic superhero world. He's been thrust into this role as Captain America and he's going to do it his way, and he wants to do it right. But his way is a very specific way that he has learned through being basically a trained human hunter. I mean, that's what Marines are. They're not Steve Rogers, they're not the same. They're not like Boy Scouts anymore. They're a little bit more gnarly."

Falcon and Winter Soldier Addresses the Avengers' Salary (Or Lack Thereof)

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Malcolm Spellman revealed that the bank scene in the show's debut episode was a hit from its early start within the writers' room.

Spellman shared how the scene featuring Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Sarah Wilson (Adepero Oduye) applying for a bank loan to save their family's boat ended in a place that questioned "the entire Marvel structure" to Variety. "Every single person I’m sitting with went crazy over that scene," he said. "It satisfied something very deep for people," he added.

"What’s a trip is when we got to that moment, and that question came about naturally," he continued. "That was a really, really fun moment, where what was supposed to be a scene that mostly dealt with the issues of, you know, a Black family from a certain background dealing with a bank loan, and the fact that him being a celebrity does not transcend him being Black, turned into way more fun of, 'Wait, how do superheroes make their money?'"

The series writer added, "I can’t tell you the volumes of documents that came out in building what is this much dialogue [holds fingers inches apart] in the episode."

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's debut episode revealed that any work of the Avengers was repaid by "goodwill," not an actual paycheck. Between this fact, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blip that erased Sam Wilson from existence for five years, he's left with little income at the start of the character's debut television series.

Meanwhile, Sam/Falcon is living at home in New Orleans with his sister Sarah Wilson, attempting to salvage their family's business and the boat that the pair grew up on pre-Avengers days. While the episode begins with Sam's decision to hang up the mantle of a superhero -- while picking up the occasional government contract as Falcon to gain some income -- to support his family, the episode's end suggests that US Agent's picking up Captain America's shield might change Sam's view on putting his superhero days behind him.

After Civil War, Sam wasn't fukking with Stark. He was a fugitive :manny:

Then he got snapped.
This and before Sam how many avengers needed income like that?
Bruce was the only person that maybe needed some but he’s not using it and he was living in stark tower until ultron then space
