DC stans will grasp at anything just to stay relevant.

I don't really do Stan Wars like that. I just want to see them do justice to the characters and the story - No pun intended.

I'll always feel like the way they set everything up, they could have made doing split stories their thing - whereas Marvel's solo movies told separate stories, DC could have slid into the lane of doing two parters.

A movie like The Death Of Superman felt like it should have been the whole League - down to characters like Booster Gold and Fire and Ice - mourning one of their leaders, as opposed to it being Batman, Wonder Woman and Lois and then the rest of the world at large.

Batman and Superman fighting hits different when they've had years of history as opposed to them meeting and it's beef from there.

Even the idea of a Robin being dead in B v S could have merited 'A Death In The Family' adaptation. I think they could have got more than an Easter Egg or a flashback out of it.

That's just my opinion, though - what do I know? :manny:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Watching this, it finally hit that Tony, Cap and Black Widow are gone :mjcry:. It didnt even hit in Spider Man Far From Home.

Also, this is Bucky's first real opportunity to be back in the world again. The attention to detail and continuity they gave in the first episode is :wow:

But the avengers of old are no more.

Snyder said that was never going to happen. Nolan (who was apart of MOS) hated the MCU concept.

Marvel already cornered the cinematic universe market, and had about a 6 year head start to perfect it.

They really came with the super generic over done family business in debt storyline

:mjlol:

I would imagine billions of people who vanished for 5 years all came back and had to go through other people living in their homes, running their businesses, and the distribution of wealth transferred accordingly.

Dealing with the social and economic impact of what happened, actually is quite unique.

A Villa Straylight.
Got to agree. I saw both Infinity War and Endgame opening night.

The silence with everyone walking out of IW like :merchant: and the reactions to the final third in Endgame a year later were two of the illest reactions I've ever witnessed to movies. shyt reached out and touched wider pop culture too.

B v S and Snyder's Justice League didn't offer anything close to those moments.

There's a lot to be said for taking 10 years to build to event movies, as opposed to rushing to one in 3-4 and expecting the audience to ride with the characters, because of who they are, and not because of the journey the director took them on.
That's long term storytelling any good writer knows about earning an ending. Snyder isn't a writer. Terio well he is who he is. But DC didn't earn any of the reactions Marvel earned. That's on them to plan out instead of looking for the money.
