Behind You
Was very whelmed by this first episode. There was a metric ton of set up which is to be expected for the first episode of a series but some of the stuff they spent time on just had me like :mindblown:.

Not sure why we needed to go into the economic troubles of the Wilson Family. I also want to know why they turned Sam Wilson into the son of Bubba Gump instead of being the Harlem born and raised son of a preacher like he is in the comics? Was this established in earlier movies or was this something that came from this show?
Anyway all of that seemed unnecessary.

I did like the idea of Bucky going about making amends to people he wronged in a way that no therapist would ever advise.

The opening rescue mission was well done and it was cool seeing Batroc the Leaper again.

Also what type of lame ass politician decided to pick this dude to be their new Captain America though?

It's like he is the white version of this :troll: under that mask.

Quick takeaways:

- I love how understated yet real the violence is. I mean if you've seen people get shot for real you know it ain't movie effects, a lot of times it's not nearly as dramatic. This is a good way to do it in the MCU. Not a bunch of focus on the gore but I had fun keeping a body count, them nikkas in the helicopter? DIGGITY DEAD :russ:

- I loved how they didn't make it a big deal about Rhodey, made me smile seeing them together because I don't remember them having much screen time together. This isn't a 'black' show but between their camaraderie and his sister, who is beautiful btw, I feel at home already.

- I love how we have shifted from world bending, world ending scenarios with cosmic threats to coming back down to earth, caring about one person so intensely, like some old man who lost a child. This is a Marvel show but how different/less believable can this really be than something like Bad Boys or Lethal Weapon? The quality of this first episode shows a lot of potential for what can be done with Marvel in the realm of TV.
