that dude just talking to be talking at this point. Marvel made what it made because of its placement, not because of the movie it self. if it wasn't placed inbwteen infinity wars and endgame, it wouldn't have made close to that. people thought they had to see it for the endgame steup.

He signed his deal late last year and started writing the script last month.

Marvel really fukking up the Black Panther thing. 1st they clearly and completely underestimated how successful and popular it was going to be. then they didn't have a plan in place to have another movie, let alone a trilogy like the other LEAD MCU hereos(Ironman, Thor, Captain America) got in a timely fashion. we really gotta wait FOUR fukkING YEARS???

and on top of that, we finally get a HUGE blockbuster BLACK male hero and the 1st thing some folks want to do in the 2nd movie is replace him with a woman.

So let me ask this.....

In a “pick your poison” scenario, would you rather Marvel press and force Coogler who clearly ain’t ready and wanted to do another other project before the BP2 sequel to rush this and make a shytty movie? Or would you rather they just start from scratch and cut Coogler and find another Director (black or white) to take the helm?

Feige said that. He also said that Coogler will be turning in his outline (this was a month ago) probably around now or if he hasn't got it already. We've got history of him writing a script from August to January with the 1st movie.

If he can't finish the script in time....then move the date

Studios do it all the time. Marvel has changed release dates before.

Oh and I forgot Jon Watts made Homecoming in 2017 and Far From Home in 2019.

If Coogler wants to do another project thats all good. Who wouldn't want to see more work from an excellent director. Thats a legit reason to wait on him. However, there has been no movement on that other movie. MBJ has moved on to other projects as well.

I just think the simple answer is they didn't want Doctor Strange or Thor to go 5 years (6 for Strange) since they're first film (we don't count the first two Thor movies.)

I hear and I feel you. I just think the simple answer is Coogler ain’t ready. He did say it himself that the 1st BP was just so emotionally draining and stressful for him to make a great one on the first go around.

Now asking him to deliver again and exceed that?

If he gotta take his time, let him take his time and I’m happy Fiegie and Disney and pressuring him.

You see how some guys been either one and done or after they second movie they like “I’m out” and don’t complete their trilogies. And I would like to see Coogler do 3

Only the first two Avengers and both Guardians of the Galaxy had a director that also wrote the movie.

Whedon became a member of the Marvel team, developing the tv show for them and serving as a creative consultant for the other movies.

There's a big difference between an outline and a script.

“Very soon. We have a number of writers on it including Ryan Coogler, who is also directing, he’s working on the draft right now. Between now and the end of the summer there will be more casting announcements. We start filming at the very beginning of next year.”

April 2016 Feige says Coogler is working on a draft. Filming began January 2017. So it took 8+ months to go from draft to filming. To the best of our knowledge, Coogler is still working on an outline.

They've already got 2 films scheduled for 2020, 3 for 2021. You're asking them to set a date just to set a date.
