People are sheep....the consensus was Gotg was a sleeper hit so everyone loves it...the soundtrack was dope but I got Pandora so:camby:

Distract the main villain by dancing, brehs:stopitslime:

Before IW dropped they kept saying how the movie is about Thanos and sure enough, the movie releases and all the critics basically regurgitate the press release....

Disney got these reviewers shook....to the point no well known reviewer openly shyt on the last jedi.. and if ever a movie needed shytting on...

That dude Ronan wasn't even a threat they kept saying oh he is so powerful and he is so dangerous and evil....they didn't show one fukking moment of him living up to that :hhh::gucci::beli:

Not to mention the media was on Chris Pratt dikk all of a sudden :scust:, movie was fukking trash

Worst offens3 was wasting Djimon Honsou in that side role when he could have been Black Panther :mjcry:

I feel like over half if ther Marvel catalog is mediocre to trash status tbh but they have a few hits I've enjoyed. I used to go harder at Marvel but I really liked Winter Soldier, civil war, black panther and infinity war. Everything before avengers 1 other than Iron Man 1 was mid pack to me

It's weird. They kind of have to be to a certain extent, because they genuinely have to appeal to as many people worldwide as possible. But, for what they are, they're very good. Like, you can't make that type of product better than how Marvel does it. They make the definitive popcorn flicks, and they've got it down to a science. There are things I don't like about Marvel flicks, and I'm not a big comic head, but I've only seen a few Marvel movies that I wasn't at least entertained by.

I really respect what they did with Infinity War. It's hardly even a movie by traditional standards. They had to follow a double digit amount of significant characters all around the universe, while basically having an antagonist as the main character that had not seen any significant screen time yet. They had to introduce his motives, and do all that shyt, while also hopping all over the place and making sure to appease fans of Ironman, Cap, Thor, Guardians, etc.

And lastly, I really respect that Marvel didn't rush anything, and took the time to earn the clout that they have right now. All these other studios are trying to jump int these cinematic universes and don't know how to do it properly. I do think the MCU has some limitations that are annoying from a viewer's POV, and we'll see how they deal with them going forward. I think Marvel is pretty great for their lane though.

Only a couple (2nd Thor movie and a couple others) have I felt like :ld: "Okay that was a waste of my time."

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster

Better entertainment time was spent watching GOTG, Thor 2/3 (first one was kinda ho-hum, brehs) and Ant Man films.

But feel you overall though.

Conclusively, i will never watch CaptainMarvel in any medium (unless it was the only joint in the plane headrest screen remaining, i'll then preview that feminist turd of a film).

Definitely not the most rewatchable movies, but then again most movies aint. They usually deliver on what they are supposed to do, and that's give you a great theater experience.

@shagnificent belafonte You saying you not gonna be in the theater to watch End Game? Because me personally, I've never paid to go to the theater to see a movie I thought was going to be mediocre.

At the end of the day, these are just comic book movies. The fact they have reached the scale they are at now is a great feat in itself.

Do you remember the majority of the 90's attempts at live action comic book movies?

....and FUUUUUCK Star Wars while we at it...
Yeah, it's crazy how Star Wars went from what felt like a once in a lifetime event to cats feeling burned out on it. I've been saying for a long time now that Star Wars is not NEARLY as a big of a sandbox to play in as it's been made out to be. People think because it's in space that there are all these stories to tell that warrant a cinematic universe and annual movies, but in reality Star Wars is a pretty small-scale story, and I don't think people want Star Wars every year, or even every other year.

I'm interested to see what the play is after Episode 9. Do they start a new trilogy? Surely Disney won't throw Star Wars in the bushes, right? Too big an investment...surely?

I'd agree more if you said, Killmonger. Chadwick does a good job as Black Panther, but that movie could've been taken to the next level by a truly great performance by Killmonger.

Rewatching that movie is hard at times because Michael B. Jordan is somewhat cringeworthy in a number of spots.
