This right here.

Shock G said the same, at one point. Pac went from being with Digital Underground and just having fun and partying with mad chicks, to being around a lot of nonsense and drama. And you always got the feeling that that life wasn't really who he was. And the people who knew him best always said that. He didn't belong around that kind of energy. So I feel what Marlon is saying. Pac probably wanted to escape and get back to the life he knew before.
He definitely wanted to leave the bullshyt. Read that vibe interview when he was in prison. Dude said he wasn’t the good person he used to be and he wanted walk away from all the nonsense. He got clowned for the interview and for saying thug life was dead and he jumped back into the deep end. Pac was an idealist that was easily influenced and it eventually led to his death

exactly how did the Hughes brothers play him? They offered him a role in a their film that he didn't like, That was THEIR FILM. They can design the character any way they want. Laurence Fishburne didn't like certain things about Do the Right Thing(that I agree with) so he respectfully declined . There was no fight or assault.
Menace got greenlighted/financed because Tupac was who they were selling to the movie companies. They piggybacked his Juice momentum.Once Pac saw the actual script, he thought his character needed to be fleshed out more.Creative differences led to clashing & beefing.

I still have that issue from back then.

People forget how young he was at the time. So he could definitely be influenced by what was around him and then just adapt. And he was an actor, so he can play the role really well. But everyone close to him during those last days, said dude wasn't happy and wanted to get away from all that. It's sad.

He was a nerdy theater kid with a big heart and there’s NOTHING wrong with that. But he couldn’t be that in the environment that he placed himself in. Add in all the other bullshyt, his panther backround, lack of a father, mother on drugs and you see why ended up the way he did.

They played him because number 1. He didn't want the lead role in the film. He said it flat out to them. The reason the film got greenlit in the first place was because if him. Thats facts. He helped them get the movie off the ground. They played him by bringing his disagreements with them to the media and bashing him to the media outlets. Which was some hoe shyt. THAT was the reason for the assault.

Hold up breh what didn't Fishbourne like about do the right thing and what role was he up for ????

Spike wrote the part of Radio Raheem for Laurence.

There were conflicting stories i’ve read about why he ended up not playing the role. One story was just plain old scheduling conflicts and the other was Laurence had issues playing a character who died at the hands of police violence. Either way Bill Nunn was PERFECT for that role in a way that I don’t know if Laurence could’ve brought the same intensity.

It seems that he missed his younger care free days when he used hang around and fool around with those guys.

It's sad how he died. I always think that if he had the chance to live at least one more year, he would've matured so much and left the bullshyt aside

RIP

Dont we all though? RIP Pac though

I heard a story on the radio one day that the Super Bowl halftime show started because the in living color show felt that the halftime shows were boring so on their network, they did a 30 minute show and fans tuned out of the Super Bowl to watch in Living Color for 30 minutes after that the very next year, the Super Bowl hired Michael Jackson and the rest is history.

Edit: Nvm. Marlon said it on his interview.

once again, that was THEIR MOVIE. If you disagree with a character in a film, just move on..
