Dude Shawn Wayans was just as valuable as Marlon if not more on wayans bros...Shawn is better at pure jokes and funny impersonations than Marlon...Marlon is a act funny and do over the top shyt...but as far as jokes and just saying funny shyt...Shawn got him beat....by far honestly
Yep. Shawn was a great straight man on the show. His little off the cuff one liners were usually funnier than Marlon breaking his neck and flopping all over the place. They balanced each other out really well on the comedy side. The only time Marlon is above average on his own is when he's doing drama. His "comedy" is too disjointed and over the top to be funny for an extended period of time.

Younger folks might not like the 90s humor as they feel society needs to go beyond black people do this...white people do that jokes that peaked in the 90s.

Show seems like a nostalgia play. Not to mention they keep referencing the 90s, lol.

This is vintage 1998 Marlon, but maybe wrong time period for this show. Plus he's stealing the show....he gotta strive for that Fresh Prince character balance.

This show made me appreciate shows like French Prince and Martin. Looking at the greatness of co stars like Tommy, Pam, and Cole, or Carlton Banks, Braxton from Jamie Foxx, etc. Marlon needs to realize that you're only as good as your co stars.

Maybe Shawn can come on the show as his brother and/or John whiterspoon as his father for balance if the rest of the cast can't be more than pawns.

Hell Jeffrey on fresh prince kept it all in line imo, lol. Jeffrey had the best comedic timing & could break up any moment if it was on the verge of corny.

Jeffrey & uncle Phill (RIP) was able to hold it down when Carlton & Wills two man game got over the top & to break up the monotonous moments.

Marlon is an underrated dramatic actor but I can't put his acting over Keenan's star power and creativity. That won't ever be seen again
I got them like this, Damon and Kenan at the top, Shawn number three, then Marlon last IMO as far as the brothers are concerned.

Marlon is funny sometimes but he corny and try too hard. With that said you're right and he could do very good with dramatic acting. Like he killed his role in requiem for a dream and I don't know why he didn't do more of that. He wanted to do comedy like his brothers but he should have done more serious roles and spread out the Wayans legacy into more of that. Dude tripping by not doing more serious roles IMO.

Another thing is he plans on doing a stand up special, I hope for his sake it's good cause I want him to win. Damon and Kenan chilling just off old money, Shawn is laid back but Marlon is the one who is still working so he has to come with it.

Facts man, Shawn had real wit. Marlon is more sillier then funny like the kind of person who may have got some jokes off in school and done stupid shyt to make people laugh but that don't usually make a good comedian. Only one who has the wit to go with it is Kat Williams from what I see. He does the silly shyt like running up and down on stage but is very smart and writes well.
