It looks like they are marketing towards the young urban crowd with this team but all it takes is a few thuggish incidents at games to ruin that whole plan.

Already happened but it got shut down quicks. For one Barclays got metal detectors before you get in so weapons is a no go. Add to that Atlantic ave traffic is shut down to traffic and you pretty much eliminated the trunk poppin shottas. They already had fights at the concerts from drunk peeps actin a fool, but they got shut down quicks. Oh and I forgot the massive police presence. This ain't bk of the 90s man. White people live there so cops seem to give a fukk now.

You're preaching to the converted. I have no desire to step foot in New York City anymore except to see family and eat at certain restaurants. There's nothing more cynical and disgusting than these new residents leaning on the City's edgy past for credibility when it suits them, despite the fact they're a major reason why the people who turned the city into a vibrant, culturally and artistically interesting, edgy place no longer live there.

I should also make clear my extreme (though I believe accurate) belief that hipster culture is an extension of the white supremacist ethos cloaked in what seems to be an innocuous, liberal, nerdy aesthetic.

Major parts of BK are hipsterville. Certain areas like Brownsville are still grimey, but that has more to do with transportation issues. All accessible areas are gentrified. It's shocking to see hipsters in bushwick man. This is where my grandmoms lived at as I kid and it was like hell on earth. Shootings everyday, robberies being like a daily part of life. Now you see white chicks from Kansas walking their dogs. It's safer but it's soulless. It's becoming a homogenized caricature of sidewalk cafes and starbucks. I don't miss the violence of the 90s but I miss the creative vibe. Anybody that spent time in bk years ago knows this.

I know that, but i also know that it doesnt work for numerous teams so its not a big deal like you tried to make it out to be. And like i said, i rattled those off the top of my head, if i tried every team for the 3 major sports i know i would find more.
