Very true, but unfortunately your Aunt's church (and others like it) are a small minorityWe could be powerful with churches, if we choose to be and in fact a lot of hood churches already are. They buy real estate in the communities they serve and run half way houses and stuff like that. My aunt's church is heavy in their community and outreach, which is why I can't dismiss religion as a whole. Those negative examples, such as mega churches and their whoring ass pastors set a poor tone.
Do you mean weed being vilified when it comes to black consumption?
Or are you referring to how blacks are being treated differently than whites when it comes to possession in states who still deem it illegal.
I live in California, specifically the Bay Area, Berkeley to be exact.
Im trying to get clarity on your angle as far as herb being bad or detrimental to the community.
Because if you argue against marijuana you're obviously not blackThey ignored this
Okay. Data can be biased as well.I started off with a disclaimer saying i didnt think either one was inherently good or bad generally speaking
but subjectively speaking religion is one of the least detrimental activities the black community takes part in as a whole
especially in comparison smoking marijuana
The purpose was to compare and contrast the effects of marijuana and religion on the black community through data
For example one of the main arguments in this thread against religion is it keeps you "mentally and physically shackled"
While thats a good ideological point, no one presented actual data that proves this assertion
I was able to support my assertion that marijuana usage does the same with data
you were the only one who came close
Okay. Data can be biased as well.
And with religion I believe the detriment that blacks with blindly follow a faith that may seem like it helps out the community, yet in the long run just helps the pastors with getting tithes. i.e. see Minister Creflo Dollar asks for $60 million for a jet etc..
As for the bolded, I think its the narrative that most believe "its Gods will" so they propose everything that good happens in their life is gods will and everything negative is the devil..

I don’t smoke but I also don’t argue against it. It’s a catch 22.Because if you argue against marijuana you're obviously not black

Right, but the fact that there is, IS still a major issue. But every church and pastor isn't like that. No matter how y'all feel about religion, the good out weighs the bad by far.
For every money hungry mega church there are 100s of small churches who aren't money hungry and they legitimately care about the people.
Black as tar if anybody is from Cleveland ask them about East Cleveland and Shaw High SchoolAre you even black?
Last time I checked a majority of Creeflo's people where black.1. Prosperity Churches are very racially diverse so what are the actual demographics of a church like Creflo's?
https://books.google.com/books?id=HoG9CgAAQBAJ&pg=PT92&lpg=PT92&dq=creflo+dollar+church+demographic&source=bl&ots=XzYFiWF4H_&sig=ULiG6Xyayypx0qp5QtK1Fqxn15E&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiDhfHL9uvWAhXFxYMKHU__A8I4ChDoAQgwMAI#v=onepage&q=creflo dollar church demographic&f=false
2. Prosperity Churches are built upon on capitalism rather than religion...majority of its congregation looks at tithes as a form of "investing to get something back" rather than worshiping Jesus or following the "Law"
It seems like a lot peoples problem with religion is actually capitalism but they are two separate entities
Right, but the fact that there is, IS still a major issue.
AND
Are we looking at weed from a legal perspective or health perspective?
And the only reason why weed is illegal is because of Dupont and the textile industry being shut down because of the many uses of Hemp, which could have revolutionized textile industry in a whole, but Dupont was a greedy b*stard.
I can speak on the many miraculous and medicinal properties that marijuana has whereas the good out weighs the bad once you remove the propagandized stigma that have been put in place.
