as i've said before, it's a movie marketed directly to ugly girls. is that an a$$hole thing to say? Yes. But i see that as the prime market for this. Girls that dress as Harley for Halloween... but probably shouldn't be dressing as Harley for Halloween

WB didn't even 100% fund Joker because they thought it was gonna lose them money and that was only a 55M budget with one of the most iconic CB villains in the world. Why would they think that BOP was gonna make SS money? It's more than likely WB cut a deal in pre-production to prevent them from losing money on this movie as well. Getting HBO Max/Warner Max ready for launch in May is probably the highest priority over there right now. Besides they got Harley merch. sales and dvds/streaming to make up for the lost by the end of the year.
